In Delta Force: Xtreme 2, you'll take control of Delta Force, employing the most dangerous and effective commando tactics and state-of-the-art weaponry at your disposal to defeat the enemy. Track enemies across a variety of expansive landscapes scattered across the globe in 10 single-player scenarios, and take them down with more than 20 real-world weapons. Insert into danger zones using dangerous HALO jumps, and use choppers, tanks and high-speed watercraft to roar into the midst of the action. Create your own exciting custom levels with the Battle Editor tool, and battle players from all over in five challenging online multiplayer game types.

I write this as someone who has followed the Delta Force series since the very begining. I had Delta Force 1 when it was new, followed by Delta Force 2, and finally Land Warrior. I got Black Hawk Down and Task Force Dagger a while after their release. All I can say is that although the earlier games still entertain me when I want an easy retro FPS to kill some time, Xtreme 2 is more like Xtreme Frustration. Everything about it sucks. Don't buy it, and don't buy any package if you're buying it to get Xtreme 2. Stick to the other games in the series.3 found this helpful

This along with Task Force Dagger is without doubt the worst in the series (can't tell if this or the other one is the worst), still it is mediocre but not that terrible (same for Task Force Dagger).1 found this helpful
Brought on a whim for a nostalgia kick. The usual stuff is still there. big maps, clunky AI, sneaky enemies that lurk and one shot you, awkward gun/gadget selection. This lacks the charm of the earlier games (mainly because aside from a graphics upgrade there's not much that's changed in way of gameplay or the peak of Black Hawk Down). The last game released by Novalogic it's really not worth the £15 asking price. From 2009 it's about as dated as you'd expect. Although I've a fondness for the series I'd personally stick with the older titles. Recommended only if you're a completionist or a nostalgia buff (like me). For those struggling to get this (and other Delta Force titles) to work on modern hardware get on over to novahq dot net. Head over to the 'files' section, select your game and the downloads there will solve all your graphics and authentication problems (can't speak for multiplayer).
Luckily I bought this as a package, so I didn't waste too much of my money. The other Delta Force games seem to work, but this one is no more. Don't buy this game by itself, or you will be wasting your money. Steam is not currently issuing refunds for it.
