What a wonderful lil gem of a game You're a patient in a mental clinic and going through the past/future/present using different fragments of your memories You have a friend, but only you can see him... or maybe not? It's about humanity and how we can safe the earth from destruction I definitely reccommend playing it 8/10

These games gotta stop making me question whether I'm in need of psychiatric evaluation. Despite being short and therefore not rich in detail, I found the story well executed, especially as the writing takes advantage of the fact that the core themes allow it to be shambolic and disjointed. The depiction of derealization is very accurate, some scenes felt like a personal callout which enhanced the immersiveness by transferring the paranoia onto me lol. Otherwise I LOVE the visual presentation, those bright colors are stunning and add to the uncanny atmosphere! My only complaint is that this was either created with the most USELESS engine ever or was purposely programmed into a pathetically reduced technical state?? It includes zero convenience features - can't hide UI, can't skip (+keyboard is unsupported), no saving (which isn't even a problem here as the fragments are short but still a stupid limitation), it's impossible to return to previously read sections via the flowchart unless by resetting progress and THAT is annoying because it enforces spamclicking from beginning every time to get on another branch. This isn't a game. It's a digital e-book/visual novel masquerading as a game on Steam. There isn't any actual gameplay here, just clicking through some of the worst writing to insult the concept of literature. This is the kind of writing that would never be accepted by a real book publisher, leading to this being dumped onto Steam Direct for $100 as if it was a game... it's not. This e-book from Russia connects incredibly cringey e-book fan-fiction writing with godawfully bad translation from the Russian it was written in. The topic of the book is the author's imaginary girlfriend, who has mental health problems and hallucinates. There's a bit of irony there if you think about it. Visual novels are tedious at best. Imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or Twilight (kidding), but translate it to a format where you've to click your mouse for every single sentence instead of just turning pages. In the case of derealization, the novel turns out to be even stronger. First and foremost, the visual presentation deserves praise. The minimalist yet highly expressive style perfectly conveys the sense of unreality, reinforcing the atmosphere.
