Surrogate

I wish i could look past the very bad music loop that constantly snaps me out of the story.

The Surrogate is the total definition of “It's all in your head”, or “Oh, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this, or I'm glad someone managed to make sense of all the things I'm thinking of into reality”. Who would know I'll be finding a game that can stylishly convey all my skepticism, and inner turmoil into practice with quotable mumble jumble of 2 characters battling it out on what's the purpose of life and what's reality? The way Surrogate play around with a close-up pause camera shot on the face, displaying emotions like despair at certain tense and funny moments (like working at a fast food restaurant), giving it a unique edge compared to other visual novels. Whereby it can be tricky to get a gasp what this game is about which you will get the hang of it upon a couple of playthroughs, I would say it is harder to tell who is speaking (and this is speaking about me personally as I am dyslexic) as all text is in the same colours and it doesn't have names next to the speech text to indicate who's speaking as you play as Franny [strike]speaking[/strike] arguing to herself. You will get used to it (hopefully), but it does make reading this game a bit harder than it shou…

Well, that was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wild read. The pacing is kind of slow even for a shorter VN, the music is very repetitive, and the writing kinda hurts my brain but the art is so cool. It's also cheap as ♥♥♥♥ so ♥♥♥♥ it, why not give it a shot? You may vibe with it more than I did. Still think it was overall worth playing through.

Amazing writing and very interesting protagonist. For this price, it's a steal

In my eyes, it's a flawed game. I like the premise. I love the art style. I can relate with the story and its message. It is deep and genuine in its message. But it still feels like it comes up short. And I can't tell if some of the spelling mistakes are geniune or not. It's worth the price though and I enjoyed it, even though it took a coupe of attempts to get into it.

what If I tell you that I finished all the endings for the game yet I still don't understand the plot of the story mb gng. yea the game caught my curiosity in the first glance and thanks to one of my homies for getting it for me. I could say I love the unique artstyle of the game. however, it's just a bit confusing for me to know who's talking cuz the game ONLY relies on the current picture shown to tell who's speaking. though on the good side, there are plenty of CG's for you to discover on each of the endings<3 they actually made each endings quite different from another but AGAIN yes, I still don't get what's really happening since I had a few troubles on differentiating who's currently speaking.
