I played the game. The music is supposedly Ai generated, but it is not bad for the game. it works appropriately. The game itself is broken into rooms, you find the door to enter and then another door to escape area and get teleported to a new area. Sort of like a l nightmare scenario. Some average zombies mill around, and if you avoid them they are simply distractions, but if you shoot them, they transform into helmet protected zombies that are very difficult to kills. . There are other soldier that behave like deathmatch bots, and you have to shoot them and find a door to proceeed to the next level. Straightforward dynamic. Seems fine, it was an unreal engine game, headshots worked. the controls were fine. but it crashed eventually. Various weapons include, assault rifles, sub machine guns, and grenade launchers. The various rooms seem like a bad mind control experiment. not sure what the overall story is. but it played okay. Until I had a crash. my system is slightly below spec so it might be a computer issue. If you like shooting things in darkened rooms, this works.

Despot Zombie is a third-person action shooter that combines survival horror, post-apocalyptic storytelling, and light role-playing mechanics into a dark adventure where every decision can influence the path forward. Developed and published by Moonstar Games, the title presents a world devastated by a deadly virus that has transformed much of humanity into monstrous creatures. Rather than relying entirely on familiar zombie-shooter conventions, the game introduces a science fiction twist through its protagonist, Kurt, whose survival depends on an advanced artificial intelligence chip implanted in his brain. This unique premise creates an engaging narrative that explores the fragile balance between humanity and technology while giving players a reason to care about the story beyond simply eliminating enemies. The campaign follows Kurt as he navigates a hostile landscape filled with infected creatures, abandoned settlements, and hidden secrets that gradually reveal the truth behind the outbreak. The narrative emphasizes player choice, allowing important decisions to affect both the overall challenge and the eventual ending. This branching structure encourages players to think carefu…

This game is in no way optermized, and uses ai music loops... but the loops kinda vibe.... This isn't a good game, its easier to find breaks in the world than the exit doors... but it scratches an itch. Do not buy this game. but I kinda like it. If it weren't for the catastrophic optermisation issuses this might be a good free game but to pay for it is simply wrong.

BAD

I have reviewed a lot of games, but Despot Zombie might just be the worst. This isn’t even a case of ‘so bad it’s good — it’s just bad. Let’s start with the music. You can’t lower it. You’re stuck listening to looping audio that sounds like rejected elevator techno. The UI? On higher resolutions, it’s tiny — you’ll squint through every menu. Controller support? It technically exists, but it’s janky and unreliable. You also can’t change keybindings, which is unforgivable in 2025. And that’s just the surface — the gameplay is dull, movement is stiff, and every second feels like a chore. I forced myself to play for 30 minutes, and that was 30 minutes too long. Despot Zombie is not a game. It’s a punishment.
