About DEVIL BLADE REBOOT
DEVIL BLADE REBOOT
has received a full remake almost a quarter century later by the original creator,
taking advantage of the latest technology.
Dive into an immersive pseudo-3D experience that pushes the limits of pixel art.
With a perfect fusion of background music and evolving stage design,
you can experience a feeling only possible in a SHMUP!
Devil Blade Reboot is presented in a seamless and cohesive package,
for the first time in English!
Simply "dodge, shoot, and destroy" without any extra baggage.
Devil Blade Reboot strictly follows a strict design concept that pursues
catharsis of shmups to the extreme.
But, as they say... no pain, no gain! If you want to enhance your score,
you will have to shoot down enemies in close proximity. The closer they are,
the higher the score multiplier. With the Berserk System,
dangerous play is the way to climb the ladder, as high risk brings high reward.
Rendered in the original native 320x240 resolution of the classics,
but with visuals that defy the limits of pixel art! Experience immersive pseudo-3D,
making use of modern techniques such as multiple parallax scrolling and zoom effects.
【Berserk System】
The closer you let them get, the higher your score will climb!
Dramatically increase the score... and the difficulty, by destroying enemies in close range!
The difficulty level changes drastically depending on the way you play the game.
From beginners who just want to clear the game,
to advanced players chasing the highest score possible,
Devil Blade Reboot is designed to be enjoyed by anyone interested in the genre.
【Retro and Reboot Mode】
While the enhancements of Reboot are visually stunning,
some may want to look back in history to see the origins of Devil Blade. We have you covered.
Included is an Arrange mode of the original "Devil Blade" created in Dezaemon+ in 1996
with the Berserk system added but the original atmosphere preserved.
Experience this retro recreation of a classic shmup,
delivered here for the first time outside of Japan.

great game a lot of fun. running it on my vewlix
One of the best shmups i've ever played, hands down. Lots of achievements and unlocks to pursue, game is newcomer friendly and has difficulty modes to suit even the hardcore players!
At night, when I close my eyes, I see little glowing bullets. Tight controls, excellent gameplay, good soundtrack and great graphics make this one a keeper. There are a million shmups out there, but this puts almost all of them to shame. Normal mode is a slightly challenging but completely fair 1CC for anyone with decent reflexes, inferno mode is where the fun really begins. The scoring is more one-dimensional than other games of the genre, but that works to the game's advantage since ironically the safest place to be the vast majority of the time is directly in the enemy's face. What would be 'instakill' attacks in other shmups are clearly telegraphed, meaning that you don't exactly have to spend 10 hours memorizing them as with other titles. The creators also nailed the 'vertizontal' ratio in such a way that it just feels right. The eponymous Devil Blade looks good enough, and the old-school pixelated graphics are timeless, giving me that good old Sega action feeling. Besides that, the bullets don't blend in with the backgrounds (which look very good BTW), which is a huge problem in other titles. It's worth it for fans of the genre even when it isn't on sale, and they even in…
if you've never played a SHMUP or bullet hell before and are curious about the genre, I strongly recommend choosing this game as your first SHMUP SHMUPs are very niche because of their inaccessibility, many older games requiring a lot of hours spent practicing in order to beat them, so almost all modern SHMUPs make solving this "problem" of inaccessibility one of their main priorities DEVIL BLADE REBOOT's normal mode gives the best solution for this: keep the game intense, but also make it extremely forgiving by allowing the player to get hit many times, as it frequently gives them shields and bombs... this results in a game that has "difficult gameplay", and is a true bullet hell (which other games forego in trying to be accessible) but isn't difficult to beat and because the game has two difficulties above normal, if you're looking for a game that is difficult to beat, the game will also provide that
Amazing graphics, cinematic, great music, awesome! One of the best shmups ever made! Replay works like charm too. To summarize what's unique to this title, it has this hilarious obsession of making you score by pointblanking to the point it's almost always the safest default position even when fighting the final boss. Its simple narrow and wide shots with bomb and score boost that shares the same bomb resources makes it easy to just concentrate on learning the stage design. Inferno difficulty is a unique highlight since not only it won't let you have shields, it also doesn't give you any bombs. While it's basically Hard at Lv. 3 pattern all the time and certainly Lv. 3 is still designed with no bombing in mind, also this mode will kill you if you don't score often enough, which is more lenient than it sounds with proper practice, the sheer audacity of having a mode where you cannot bomb for a shmup released in 2020s is impressive! It's a must play difficulty mode! If, you're in mood for something sadistic to 1cc. It even has Retro mode which is the old Dezaemon game but with new arranged patterns and Reboot scoring system. What a deal! If there is one weakness to say ab…
