Tofu walking simulator that takes place in a Chinese city called XiLin (this may be a translation issue, I don't know a city called this but there is a district and a county that has this name, but I'm no China expert) but since you can see the sky and clouds when that is not the case in China I'm going to guess it's not an exact likeness, but it's probably just here to harvest data for the CCP. Just play GoogleMaps.14 found this helpful

District XiLin - 西林区 is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, District XiLin - 西林区 is a software application that displays a 3D rendition of an area in China, with models presumably harvested from Streetview (look how bad they are!). You can just walk around and look at stuff. Saves you having to open a browser and go to Google Streetview? I'd rather just do the Mapcrunch Challenge. Anyway, this is not a game. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. Freeware walking simulator, based on Unreal engine and Google maps (or similar) meshes. Actually... It's not all bad. IF you have a vivid imagination, and able to get the proper pictures of the area AND also want to play a walking simulator with zero points of activity. The city, pictured in the game, is actually quite nice, I'd really like to walk there, for real. Satellite and then 10 times more distorted visuals, however, are not really providing a seamless and easy virtual walking experience. Also, any game based on the modern Unreal engines, tends to drive GPU and CPU to maximum power limits, even in cases like this, when the visual part looks very simple, compared to many other games that are much more beautiful and rich in details, and at the same time significantly less demanding on power consumption. Thus, to actually enjoy District XiLin - 西林区, you need some really rare confluence of reasons, starting from 26 Gb of free space on your harddrive (and moderate-to-mighty PC in general), and good imagination, and also lack of freedom to go outside and actually walk around, like during the pandemia quarantine, and lack of any other, more demanding issues to attend to.
