About Dodo

Dodo is a puzzle game where you discover the rules. You start with a keyboard, and some grids with symbols on. Typing in the correct 'words' will get the grid to the correct state.

Each level presents you with a grid with various symbols with it - you start out with just a 'lightning bolt' and a 'moon'. These symbols tell you something about the colors you have to get the grid to. What exactly do they tell you? Well, it's your job to figure out!

Each letter contributes to a word which changes the colours on the grid in a certain way - another puzzle for you to solve. Once you have figured out the meaning behind the letters and symbols, you can solve the tricky puzzles Dodo throws at you.

Solve harder puzzles as you explore your way through the world of Dodo!

Difficulty : 3.5/5 (Hard) Global : 2.5/5 (Good) Curator page : Anokturnus You press a button, it activates and deactivates some other buttons and the goal is either to activate only some of them or all of them at once. You've already probably stumbled on this kind of puzzle, and this is what the core of Dodo is. I'm not a fan of those puzzles, they're usually just very annoying and frustrating... but Dodo is very different. You don't interact directly with the grid, Dodo uses a system of letters and words to manipulate it. For exemple, if you type "D", your action will affect the whole grid because "D" means "select all". If you then type "O", the selected boxes will be activated because "O" means "activate". There are lots of other letters and you can do a lot of things. Discovering what they do is part of the game but don't worry, the letters that mean "select X" always highlight the boxes they will affect. The grid is also not your typical grid that directly tells you what to activate. Only the first 2 worlds are like that, the next worlds all have their own unique mechanic in the form of a grid sign you…

It started off nice and simple, and ended with me going insane typing insane combinations of letters

I've only completed the first three worlds, but am already really enjoying this game! I'm finding it challenging, but incredibly satisfying once I complete a level. The game design is really clean and easy to quickly comprehend. I haven't yet come across any bugs or anything negatively affecting my game-play. Some of my best solutions were brought about by simply mashing my keyboard, but the added challenge of trying to complete the levels efficiently adds another layer to it. Really enjoying it so far, and definitely worth it for the price!

Very nice, chill experience! I didn't much care for the "perfect solve" diamonds after realizing how they work, but the overall gameplay and idea were very neat. I like the way the game uses very minimalistic stylistic choices to obfuscate the puzzling a bit without making it too obtuse.

Brilliant puzzle game. Very cerebral!
