Steam will say I've only played an hour of this game and while that's true on Steam, I've put in about 20 hours on the version direct from Wolverine Studios during the two weeks of First Access. I'll start off by saying I'm not a huge NBA fan. Used to be back in the days of Reggie Miller but not a big fan of the modern-day NBA. But I like PC sports management games because of the customization ability. So how realistic are the stats? How accurate do the players play? I'll let someone else decide that. The game is unlicensed. You will have to download the real-world mod on their forums if you want the NBA teams. The last Pro Basketball offering I played was 2021 and the expansion back then automatically put both teams out west. So if you made one of the expansion teams, say Kentucky they were automatically put in a division out west. That has now been changed (and was changed in 23 I believe) to allow you to expand to a 32-team league with divisions of four teams. And then you can edit those divisions by swapping teams out on a one-for-one basis. I still prefer the light UI of the older games. Not a huge fan of all black and gray. But of course, that's a personal preference. T…

After watching the few YouTube content that exists to this game, I was hoping it might be a possible alternative for NBA 2K, also including the option that you can start at any point in NBA history. I refunded the game after 1 hour of playing time, when I realised that basically the most important point of a NBA Basketball Manager is completely broken. Positives + Community creates original team and player data including photos. Content is easy to download and update. + Generally a lot of customisation options, including things like salary cap, if it is possible to draft players right out of high school, etc. + Savegames from their previoius versions and from their NCAA game can be imported Negative - I tried 1-2 historical datasets. While the players seemed pretty accurate, those older seasons, don't include any pictures. Understandable, since it's a lot of work, but if that's the main reason for you to play the game it's good to be aware. I switched to current seasom. - The reason I refunded: Player trades. First off the whole trade area is super uncomfortable and an absolute downgrade to NBA 2K. You can only trade with 1 team at a time, you can not inquire about any of the op…

An improvement on prior version worth the pick up if you enjoy rebuilding, trade system could still use some work though but the historical mode allows you to play from any season and with the real world mod the game is even better.

It is an okay game but the contract "negotiations" are awful, constantly players are asking me for a 3 years extension when I cannot offer more than 2. Bad AI. Salaries are not well presented when signing players, let me see my salary cap while I am negotiating, show me similar players in the league and their salaries etc. Other aspects of this game are alright, but it is annoying to have to make 3 clicks to get back to my depth chart after every game, why can't I make it an easy screen to get to? Trading is also just terrible and you can only trade with one team at a time. In all I cannot recommend this game, it needs a lot of work.

While not perfect, there is nothing else that even comes close for a basketball management sim. If you're a basketball fan and a fan of sports sim games like OOTP, this will for sure be enjoyable for you.
