✦ AI summary

Players praise this game for its compelling simplicity, atmospheric pixel art, eerie music, and surprisingly engaging dungeon-crawling gameplay that keeps them entertained for extended sessions. The main complaints center around poor onboarding—lacking explanations of class mechanics and combat controls—and occasional motion sickness triggered by the wireframe corridor navigation. Despite these issues, players find it a fun, imaginative time-killer with surprising depth hidden beneath its minimalist presentation.

I beat Dragon Ruins. Twice. It took just over 3 hours. Dragon Ruins is described as "A dungeon crawling microgame for tired people.". This is accurate - you make a party, explore a dungeon, level and upgrade the characters, and kill a dragon. Battles auto-resolve in real time without your input, so it's effectively a semi-idle game where you're focused on navigating the dungeon and deciding when it's time to dip, versus selecting attacks/spells for each individual encounter, worrying about specific gear choices, etc. It's low effort fun and the presentation's nice for what it's going for. There is a "remix" mode which is the same general gameplay structure and loop but a different dungeon layout. It's a good pickup on sale if you like occasionally mapping out and exploring a dungeon but don't have the energy to really deal with more intensive party building or combat.

There's not much to this game but its pretty sick for what it is. The soundtrack is mainly made up of some cool ambient pieces that just make the whole thing a vibe. The art is so cool too I think that's worth mentioning anyway I gotta play the sequel cause it has a monkey in it.

Very cute art, just don't come in expecting an actual RPG. There really isn't anything there mechanically, but it's a great game to play while doing something else or waiting. Nice vibes.

Simple, yet enjoyable dungeon crawler. The music, art, sounds, and gameplay compliment each other to create a unique "retro" experience. I do wish for more games from the dev(s)

I don't have much time to invest in games these days and needed something fun without all the overwhelming baggage. This was exactly it. Gameplay is straightforward and simple. The character artwork is nice. The music is wonderful. It's a short game but highly enjoyable for someone like me.
