"Duckles: the Jigsaw Witch" is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. And it's bad, oh so incredibly bad. I've played and reviewed well over 12,000 games on Steam, more games than anyone else on the planet, so it's quite an accolade for this game to achieve to be considered once of the worst I've ever played. And there's been some stiff competition. This is a kind of godawful puzzle platformer thing that's supposed to be "16 bit retro" but looks more like a 5 bit non-euclidean Lovecraftesque horror. Like, you know sometimes things are just bad, amateurish, you point and laugh and move on? This is so bad that playing it, even thinking about it could cause severe psychological damage. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. To make matters worse, while…3 found this helpful

the controls are way too slippery on keyboard, the voice acting is awful, the story is worse. none of which the trailers do an adequate job of warning you about. if it were just the goofy art and overtop sfx i would love this game but it drops the ball literally everywhere else.1 found this helpful
