✦ AI summary

Dumpy & Bumpy is a colorful puzzle game with charming SNES-style visuals and local co-op that players find engaging and fun, with reasonable difficulty progression and clever level design reminiscent of classic puzzle games. However, players consistently complain about the lack of a rewind option making mistakes overly punishing, and several note that some puzzles rely too heavily on tight time windows rather than pure puzzle-solving, which can feel frustrating and cheap.

They get overly complex and annoying for my simple mind. However, between the colorful, SNES like visuals and how Dumpy & Bumpy (DB) looked to mix things up with more action-focused mechanics, I was willing to give this a try. Having local coop was a nice touch, so my friend and I tried it out when he visited. Neither name is very flattering, but at least with the red and green we could say it was a Christmas theme as we played together.
Gameplay
Having realized more how this title seems to draw from Nintendo as an inspiration, DB somewhat reminds me of the Adventures of Lolo games, but with different mechanics in play. Heck, the game even ends in a boss fight, though I'm nowhere close to that far in the game. With 8 worlds and 10 levels each, you'll encounter various objectives and restrictions …

This was a fun little puzzle game. It's not quite the sokoban I was looking for, but was still a fun. The puzzles were challenging, without being over-the-top. They felt like they had a reasonable difficulty progressive, too. My only complaint is that several of the puzzles felt too focused on hiring narrow time windows. I'd prefer to have had fewer of these, but they aren't going to ruin my enjoyment of the game.

This game is cute, but don't let that fool you. This is an evil puzzle game that'll suck you in if you let it, but dammit it's fun

A lot of silly fun. If you liked Adventures of Lolo, you'll probably like this one.
