Combining Roguelite and Hero Defense gameplay into a crazy free-for-all, where it’s you and up to three friends versus hordes of enemies. Select your hero, use your towers and abilities to survive the waves of foes, unlock new weapons and runes, and take on the bosses that await you!
Action RPG combat allows you to get into the fray or take down enemies from afar. As you collect powerful runes and weapons your build changes, turning you into a war machine that gains insane strength!
Are you brave enough to dive in as a rogue Defender? Perhaps you like to be in a brave party to support one another? Never fear, you can choose to play solo or with friends in up to 4-Player Online Co-Op!
Active tower building allows you to instantly summon towers that help fight and take down the armies that approach. As you progress you’ll find new towers with stronger effects to help bolster their power!
Heroes, Weapons, Runes, and Talents are unlocked as you progress, providing greater power, more diversity within your build, and a whole new experience every time you embark on an adventure.What’s included?

as of 2026 there has been no updates in 3 years, the game is very much still broken with what appears to be no future in sight, just go buy dungeon defenders 1 as they are still updating it and is probably the only one that will continue to get any of attention at all, unfortunate as i wanted to see if this ever became a thing but clearly it was hanging by the rope before coming out of early access11 found this helpful
[h1] Instead of tower defense, gameplay turns more into defend the balls type of game. Towers are now abilities to use that disappear after some time. Combat using your skills and mashing buttons mostly. Everyone will play with same looking characters, no customization. Gain levels to unlock new characters, 7 heroes in total. Choose loadout which frankly is limited, most characters have 2 abilities to choose from in each group (first unlock them of course). No players online, huge drawback. Visuals are good but gameplay could've been much better. Soundtrack, nothing to complain. Not necessarily a bad game, it just doesn't compare to rest of the series. Downgrade from Dungeon Defenders 1 and 2. Overall big fudge in your face. Removing from library. [/h1]8 found this helpful

this game is laughably awful - game breaking bugs are common - many mechanics in the game just don't work - the UI is often wrong or incorrectly placed - gameplay loop is incredibly repetitive and items hardly differ from run to run - the scaling outside the runs is painfully slow and feels basically negligible I could go on but there's honestly way too much ♥♥♥♥ to even start on.
