Dungeon Origins is a sincerely made 2D retro pixel Unity based hybrid of a tower/soldier defense game and a dungeon builder. There's a simple but quirky plot as the great hero of the kingdom (you) are betrayed and to take your revenge on the king you decide to build a dungeon from whence to strike down your betrayers. Fair enough. Gameplay consists of two phases. First, you spend your resources building out your dungeon and filling it will traps and monsters. This is less of a pure dungeon builder and more like a tower defense where you get to lay out the path the enemies will follow. The second phase is the main "tower" defense part as adventurers come into your dungeon and hopefully your defenses are good enough to stop them. You get a couple of active abilities as well like letting your monsters explode when they die for a short time, or reducing enemy attacks. The gameplay is deepened by a progression system as you can evolve your monsters and so on. The richness of the game design is very welcome. It's really a solid concept for a game but it's let down in the usual ways. A choice was made to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graph…

I don't feel like there was enough for the price tag of the game. The concept is brilliant, but it honestly feels like Early Access and I was sad to realize there was no more. I feel like if this is fleshed it could really be a fantastic game. In it's current state tho at the current price I do not think it's worth it.

Absolute F'ing GEM of a game. I love base builders and quite frankly there are not enough Dungeon Builders. I can't say anything bad about it besides I WANT MOAR! Great Job I Cant Wait for your next title.

Entretenido Tower Defense, con una dificultad brutal, que se hace repetitivo al cabo de algún tiempo. Aún así, no está mal.

for five dollars an hour of entertainment, it wasn't bad, but I can't say that i'd recommend the game on its own merrits.
