Dungeon Rustlers

This is such a fun time killer. I keep hoping that I have the fastest run on each level every time ... but I do not. Definitely worht the cost of admission.

A promising Gauntlet-style overhead shooter that needs some more time in the oven. Besides moving and attacking, you can utilize a dash, shield, strafing maneuver and limited smart bomb supply to stay a step ahead of the ever-present hordes of nasties; as you wander the halls and chambers blasting everything that moves, you'll want to grab plenty of coins (which fuel a Gradius-esque power-up bar) and gems (which add to a score multiplier), as well as requisite health and stamina potions. Tack on three character classes and leaderboards for both time and score, and what else could someone with old-school gaming tastes demand for five bucks? Well, consider the following. The biggest issue by far is that nearly all of the hits you take are likely to be ones you couldn't see coming: both monsters and the portals they spawn from can and will appear right on top of you with no warning at all, unseen offscreen projectiles will hit home before you can react to them, and small critters will get lost in the piles of loot and pixelly "splatters" other defeated targets have left behind. Someone's rustlin' I know-ow-ow-ow!!![/h1] [i]Dungeon Rustlers[/i] is an arena-based game involvling slaying all monsters in the level before advancing to the next level. It's pretty decent, even if it does use the same assets as [i]Creature Clicker - Capture, Train, Ascend[/i]. It's pretty good in the short run, but I do find the lack of savepoints to be bothersome (I get busy and need to put games down from time to time). So, what's the reason to play this game? It's only worth your time and money (currently priced at $5) if you're into retro-style arena-based combat utilizing 3 classes (you only get to choose one per playthrough). It seems pretty decent if you're into this sort of thing. Of course, if you're an average gamer like me, you could probably take it or leave it (recommended price being about $1 for this sort of thing). 5/10 Rustling in the dungeon can be okay...but not great.

Great game! Really enjoy playing this game a couple times a day trying to see how far I can get and see if I can get my times down! Really recommend this game!

Love this game! Has the feel of older style gaming with amazing music and challenging levels which keep bringing you back for more. I would absolutely recommend you play this game!
