About Dungeon Village

✦ AI summary

Build a thriving town where adventurers earn gold and loot by conquering dungeons, then use those riches to construct shops, training facilities, and alchemical cauldrons that attract even mightier heroes. Watch your humble hamlet grow into a legendary hub as you manage resources, complete quests, and rank up to unlock increasingly dangerous challenges and rare treasures.

Build a heroic hamlet that warriors and merchants can call home!

Welcome to an epic RPG world in which the town you build can grow from humble hamlet into a mecca for the land's most ambitious adventurers!

The enterprising warriors that stop by your blossoming burg will defeat monsters and earn you money. Conquering dungeons and clearing out hordes of monsters will bag you loot to stock your shops. And if your hamlet flourishes, adventurers will want to set up house and settle down!

Build training facilities like Combat Schools and Magic Labs to hone your heroic denizens' skills and boost your village's Popularity. The more faces that flock to your cause, the bigger the baddies you can beat!

Fulfill certain conditions to rise in rank. This improves the selection of products in shops and allows you to take on more advanced quests.

An all-new "Cauldron" feature also allows you to test your alchemic expertise. Toss items obtained from quests or shops into the Cauldron and your armory might receive a rare addition.

No dungeon is too deep! Make your village the crown estate of this bold RPG narrative!

This is the game that got me addicted to Kairosoft's wide catalog of games. I first purchased it on Switch and played it so many times. When it came to Steam (and with achievements added later), I was super excited and quickly beat this version. These games are primarily made for cell phones, but I do not play mobile games often. Strongly recommend using a controller, but the key binds are on Kairosoft's website. This is a very light city builder game about running a town for adventurers and providing them with the equipment, food, and housing that they require. Then those little adventurers go out and slay monsters to level up! And you can send a team into the dungeon to do fighting for you, so you can unlock more for your little city. Kairosoft has some quicky fun humor with lots of puns on names or items. My favorite adventurer to join my town was
Fluffie Kiss (pun on Yuffie from Final Fantasy.)
I won't spoil the rest if you enjoy pun-ful names!

Dungeon Village is an absolute classic gem I played in the early 2000's on my Ipad, and it has been a delight to revisit it on Steam. The mouse controllers are stiff and slightly weird to get used to, but the gameplay was and still is to this day great. I've put over 14hs to get all the achievements in the game, and don't regret a single minute invested into this. A great game to enjoy alongside a podcast or an audio book.

Fun game for someone who doesn't play city builders. It's casual, it's fun, and it's not too long.

Wonderful and lite fantasy city builder that is fine to play. The best thing about it is that its simple. The worst vice-versa. If you want a simple this is for and if you wanted to try something in this genre to dip your toes this is also for you. This was for me.

After playing Game Dev Story for the 50th time I finally decided to play another Kairosoft game and it's another BANGER! It is both "idle" battler and city builder, and it doesn't really excell in either but it is still real fun. Something I have an issue with which I think is the same over all of Kairosoft's games is even though it looks like a game you can just leave on in the background and can just check on every little bit, it is not, they are not, at least 70% of your attention is spent on these games which is annoying because I wish I could just leave this on in the background while working on stuff or playing other games and see all the stuff the characters have done when I come back but no, there is a limited time to play the game and it also pauses every 2 seconds to tell you something the characters did or alert you of a new mission you can do, which again wouldn't be annoying if it was a game where you actually do things yourself but no the characters are autonomous, I wish there wasn't a limited time where the game just ends and that you can do things at your own pace, but that is also technically the type of game this wants to be and it's not the sort of game kairoso…

It's not the sequel to Majesty I've been looking for, but it's the closest any game has come while also being fun to play. Less complex, far more of a fishtank you watch and poke than a game with deep systems, but it's satisfying, adorable, cute, etc etc. I just like knitting or crocheting while watching my adventurers do their thing. :)
