Monster Train 2

I can be very picky when it comes to games, but Monster Train 2 is a clear winner! The game improves on the prior installment in the series with lots more content and is in my opinion is the best in the genre. The only negative I can find is that the expanded depth of its gameplay comes at the cost of a little more complexity making the onboarding slightly harder for new players - so if you haven't played the first game, I also recommend playing that first, though I am sure it is not a requirement. I can also recommend the DLC for players who are already in love with the game, though it is by no means required either. [h1]Why you should buy this game: [/h1] You like deck builders where you make clear meaningful decisions without being overwhelmed, with difficulty matching your skill level as you progress and improve. The sound, music, graphics, game design, art style and world is also top class. I must admit even 2000+ hours into the series I still don't fully understand the lore, but I also find it somewhat unnessary. Everything the game needs, it does extremely well! If you like Slay the Spire or other deck builders, then I think this game is a must try!

Not a lot to say on this one. It's a straight upgrade from Monster Train, it's better in every way and equally amazing. It's Shiny Shoe, so the balancing is a bit obnoxious at times, however the game is extremely fun. Sadly, Umbra still sucks despite being my favorite clan, but all of them are fun to play.

I had a really good time with Monster Train 2. I’ve always enjoyed roguelike deckbuilders, and this one hooked me pretty quickly. I really like experimenting with different cards, units, and upgrades to see what kind of build I can put together. One of my favorite parts is when a run starts coming together and you find a combination that works way better than expected. Even when a run goes badly, I usually want to try again and see if I can make a better build next time. If you like roguelike deckbuilders, this is definitely one I’d recommend. 8/10.
