This game is strange. Structurally, it's sound, and very polished. It's fast-paced, and clearly, the developer cared a lot about making this a good game. There are SOME original assets. Not a lot, but there are some. The character portraits and battle backgrounds are original. My question is, if they're willing to do that much, why still include the basic default RPG Maker assets at all? Why not make everything from the ground up? That seems like a very strange decision to me. The gameplay is fun but it can get repetitive, and there's really not much else going on besides grinding and getting to the next level. That's fine, it's just not really my type of thing. It's a decent game, and I think it's quite decent, but it just doesn't go all the way in my opinion. Also the game is incredibly easy. Way too easy. 6/10. It's a good game, but I don't really see myself coming back to it

very nice game

I rarely write reviews (I probably should do more, as I like to support fellow indies) and am reluctant to post negative ones even when it seems deserved, since I know first-hand just how much work goes into trying to make a good game. Dungeons of Betrayal, though, is such a curious case that I've decided to review it anyway. I got it on a very deep discount, and I'm certainly glad I didn't pay much for it - but it's far from true to say that this game has no redeeming features. It's nicely presented, got some good features, and sets up some potentially interesting plotlines - sadly, it does absolutely nothing with them. This feels like what could have been a very good game, but abandoned at about 30% development. The final boss seems virtually impossible to beat (and I know it's not just me, having checked other users on the Steam forum pages and other sources), and the reason for this appears to simply be poor design. This game had a lot of potential, but lives up to hardly any of it.
