Today I can say that this game is very good. I was hooked from the first game and in this second game of the series, is even better! As for the negative comments, I can't agree with them at all, since I enjoyed it immensely. I understand that their comments were made years ago, which is why I'm here today, on the day I'm writing this, to give my point of view and my experience with the game. The controls are simple but very original. Each helicopter has its own handling; the heavier it is, the more difficult it is to handle. I recommend playing with a controller for a better experience (I played with an XBOX controller and a Nintendo Pro Controller). In addition, you can control when you want to fire the helicopter's weapons and when you don't; there is a button for that. You can also choose your own weapons for the helicopter for each mission, and at the same time, there are specific helicopters for each mission. As you progress through the game, you will unlock more helicopters with their respective characteristics. Regarding the “poor optimization of the PC port of the game,” that is false. On my computer, I was able to run the game at very good FPS at all times. At no point…24 found this helpful
Very easy game to get used to controls and very addictive once you start playing.2 found this helpful
Picked it up on sale, and have already got a lot out of it for the money, as I close in on the last few missions. Once the controls click, it feels pretty good hauling heavy cargo, which you have to be a bit gentle with or it can upend your chopper, navigating caverns, and making quick, precise landings. Auto-targeting means the AI will occasionally leave some AA unit alive at the end of a strafing run, or burn through too much ammo. Which can be frustrating, but hasn't blocked my progress. There is a forgiving in-mission checkpoint system, in the form of LZs scattered around the maps, but completionists will want all the stars for completing missions under par time and without being shot down, for which they'll want to rely on these landing zones less. For the rest of us, there are more than enough stars to earn, playing normally and repeating only a subset of the missions, with better choppers, to unlock all the missions. And getting all the helicopters and weapons does not require any engagement with the collectible dogtags, though you'll need those if you want to fly around in a UFO. Fun little game to pick up and play for a bit, or maybe to tear through in 6 to 8 hours. Ve…2 found this helpful
