As the new overseer for your underground Dwarf base, your job is to manage the small colony and make it as rich as possible, before they meet their inevitable doom! To survive as long as possible, you’ll have to steer and guide your greedy little fellows to the richest points in the caves, while avoiding all the dangers – so they don’t end up destroying your Town Hall and its essential supply of beer. They explore for you, they mine for you and they fight for you - but if you don't keep an eye on them, they'll do what they do best: die for you and take everyone else with them. But, if all else fails when the Spider Queen comes for you – use the Outpost’s Dwarf Cannon and shoot Dwarfs at her!

Frankly, I played this game only because I required an achievement to 100% Killing Floor, a game from the same publisher. And it was surprisingly solid. A bit repetitive, sure, with no real endgame, sure, but it's a free game that will net you a couple hours of fun. Just keep in mind, to 100% this game, you'll need to buy some of the DLCs.
It's simple and fun. it can get intense, but is more of a macro quantitiy vs quality challenge. pretty satisfying to push for personal highscores. i watched someone play it and their house and wanted to try it. they got Honeydew to voice the tutorial dwarf!
Fun game! Diggy Diggy Hole!
Every now and again you'll remember some weird game from a decade or two ago in a cursed dream that delved into the fractured glass reflections of your memories that're slowly desolving in the soup of time. I have this incorporeal figurative individual in my brain I call Brian who was gracious enough to stir the spot deep enough in my slumber to dislodge this gem from the soot below. That saturday morning I skipped breakfast. Glad I pulled this one out when I did. When I was younger this game wasn't all that gripping because my monkey brain needed a more linear level to pull. But lemme tell ya, this is a great little sandboxy zen game. The only critique I'll give it is the damage dealt to my ears from the music drumming up the same track of pain and suffering when the goblin shaman appears, and instantly get minced before the song can end. God forbid you discover more than one at once... Its legitimately really good though, and I easily sink time into this without a care in the world.

I couldn't find this for 10+ years, probably because there are many dwarf games that outcompeted this in search results. It's a solid game, simple premise might need a bit of UI refinment but otherwise it's excelent.
