Dynasty!

Wow!! Just when I think I've seen it all in video games, something like THIS comes along and blows my mind a bit! Incredibly cool football sim mixed with deckbuilder! Very complex and so satisfying to play, especially with the realistic numbers you can put up stat-wise, just really brings a smile to my face. Great gem here with lots of potential, will def dig into it deeper later on! Thanks dev for your hard work. <3

TLDR: Cool idea, and if something like this was done decently I think it'd be right up my alley. This is nothing like football. It's just a card game with football paint slapped on it. The AI slop announcer is wrong all the time, success percentages seem to mean almost nothing, and the upgrades you spend your money on are ridiculous. Hard pass. This is unfortunately a pretty bad game. The success percentages seem to mean very little. You're playing a worse team, you select your play and it shows that you have a 70% success chance, you snap the ball and... interception. Fine if this happened occasionally since that's how RNG works, but I played 6 games and this nonsense happened *constantly*, both in my favor and against me. Annoyingly, the AI slop announcer is just wrong regularly. For example, my team page shows that I'm a pass heavy team, and I haven't run once yet in the game. The announcer says my team is relying on the run... The stadium upgrades are cartoonish. Rather than upgrading your seating to fit more fans and make more money, the early upgrades are more like upgrade your field surface for a 5% bonus to kick returns. This is a fun and genuinely enjoyable game made by a very small development team. It has its flaws, but it also has a lot of heart. A few quality of life updates would go a long way for example, the ability to call a timeout if you accidentally select the wrong play and want to make a different decision. The podcast style commentary is a creative touch. It's not perfect, and there are moments where it shows its limitations, but it's a solid attempt at doing something different and helps give the game its own identity. The gameplay can become fairly easy once you recognize the patterns needed to succeed, but there's still plenty of fun to be had. Don't go into this expecting Madden. This is aimed at players who want an original football themed deck building game rather than another annual, microtransaction heavy football card title. It has its own style and can really capture your imagination. You can tell that AI was used in parts of the development, but it feels like it was used thoughtfully to help a small team create something they otherwise couldn't, not as a shortcut to make a quick profit. Feels more like a Jimmy Haslam Simulator in the early game, judging by how I'm getting beaten down and making poor decisions. But wow. You need a great UI for a game like this, and Dynasty! is top-notch. Lots of hyperlinks and explanation so you're never feeling lost or unsure where to go. Each screen has cool stats, charts, and graphs, with a level of visual polish you don't typically see in games like this. It's actually fun to click around and explore. The AI commentary and post-game podcast add a ton of immersion in a way that doesn't feel gimmicky. Not sure how extensively AI was used for the art assets, but everything looks polished and cohesive. Lots of in-depth systems to explore. The amalgamation of sports management sim and deck builder is pretty slick. Really solid purchase. If this is the work of a solo dev, you rock!

This is a really good game and I can't recommend it highly enough! For the measly introductory offer of £5.90, you can't go wrong. There are a tonne of American football games on the market but this one is unique. The highly polished interface gives the game a kind of really visually appealing 'magazine' feel, and the level of depth is really impressive. It appears that every team gives a unique challenge each season, I chose to manage the Bengals so I started with very little as the team is in a building phase, the games are very difficult to win with a team like this but each game gives a reward to keep you coming back in order to build the team's strength. I really like the podcast which gives a running commentary of each game, then a detailed recap between games. There is a real teams mod available and the podcast changes to match the real life team names which is really impressive, and the speech sounds so natural. I'm only two games into the season but i'm hooked already. I can't fault the game at all. but if there are any updates or additions on the horizon, then i'm really excited to see how this game develops. 10/10, highly recommended.
