2022 AD. The sequel to "EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 5" depicts the battle between the EDF and alien life forms that have suddenly attacked the Earth. Players take on the role of an EDF soldier in this third-person shooter in which they must destroy a large number of giant enemies.
Story:
The year is 2024 AD. Mankind has won the long battle against the unknown invaders. The enemy Primers are now gone and peace has returned to Mother Earth. However, the population has shrunk to 10% and the world was on the verge of collapse. The survivors fought against the remaining threats while trying their best to continue their recovery. Three years passed in the year 2027. In a new world without hope, the time has come to once again resist the fate of the Earth.

The identity of the invader that has long tormented Earth is finally revealed. I really liked EDF5, and this one is really fun, too. I enjoy the main themes of the game, and I think a lot of the callbacks/references to EDF5 are pretty cool. I am not quite finished with the story yet, but I can tell it's going to be nutty.1 found this helpful

The game is pretty silly but very fun. The story is kinda neat, but can get repetitive. There's a lot of missions, but some enemies can get repetitive. The final missions were also pretty annoying, so that kinda sucks, but i still think its a pretty fun game.1 found this helpful

I’ve been a fan of the series since EDF 2017. Played online multiplayer with 5 for the first time with a group of 4 and had a blast. 6 is great, but I can’t recommend this for online multiplayer. In July 2026, multiplayer still has technical issues such as players getting disconnected from the game.
