I appreciate the atmosphere but there feels like very little direction regarding gameplay. I tapped out when my flashlight died as I tried to decipher what the game wanted me to do and when. With a little player friendly changes I think you'll have an interesting experience here but for now I can't recommend.

I don’t mind when games use AI when it’s done right, it can enhance gameplay, immersion, or development speed. Unfortunately, in this case, the AI implementation is poorly executed and actively hurts the experience. It feels lazy, unpolished, and disconnected from what the game is trying to achieve. Instead of adding depth, it breaks immersion and lowers overall quality. Sadly, this is one of those situations where the tech becomes a weakness rather than a strength.

Echo of the Walls, developed and published by STuNT, is a first-person psychological horror adventure that centers on atmosphere, perception, and the fragile boundary between memory and reality. Set within the decaying confines of Blackwood Manor, the game places players in the role of Daniel, an investigator who arrives seeking answers but quickly becomes trapped within the mansion’s shifting corridors and oppressive silence. I tried to play this game, a couple of times. Each time finding myself stuck in Mary's room and I'm almost certain that I have taken photo's of all angles and objects in the room and used all batteries for the flashlight to find even a small object or hint at how to get out of the room. I can appreciate and respect the time that the dev's put into making this game. But it seems more a rushed project, than an actual thought out and story detailed game. The maybe 1 or 2 "jump scares" I experienced, weren't scarry at all. More of a loud noise startle. I get the game is cheap, and all, but even free games have been built and created better than this. You have the graphics, now get rid of the AI voice, and detail the game so that the story actually can make sense, the jump scares actually scare you. I know the game just came out, but I got faith that you can turn this from a "somewhat okay" game, to a good horror game. I'll keep up with the game updates, and look forward to hearing what improvements the devs will make. For now, I do not recommend strongly for people to play. JUST YET! Let the dev's cook a bit more and see what they bring out of it.

Not a bad game. Pretty predictable but not bad. The game locks up taking the picture in the kitchen. But stopping the game and restarting seems to get it back on track. So far I'm stuck. Seems like there is no way to get the ankh piece out of the kitchen.
