About ISLAND
The story of ISLAND revolves around Sanzenkai Setsuna, a young man who wakes up on the shore of Urashima with no memories of his past. During the game, you'll explore Setsuna's relationship with three girls on the island, Rinne, Karen, and Sara. As he uncovers the hidden secrets of Urashima's past - and future - Setsuna must fight against fate to protect that which he treasures most.
Will you be able to discover the truth and save Urashima, or find yourself lost among the ISLAND's many dead ends?
World and Background
Urashima is a small island, far from mainland Japan. It's a true utopia, blessed with rich natural beauty. But the island harbors a difficult past, and it's about to be erased, silently, from history.
Soot blight syndrome, an endemic disease, has brought about a rift between the island and the mainland. An offshore platform intended for marine research has long been left abandoned; five years ago, three separate incidents brought the once influential Three Families of Urashima to near ruin. Rumors about children being spirited away have become part of the local folklore, alongside another legend, one that has been repeated on the island since time immemorial...
"Let me tell you the legend of this island: it's a story of tragic love..."
The key to saving the island lies with three girls, each of whom belongs to one of the Three Families. These girls aren't able to change the fate of the island by themselves, but might they succeed with the help of the young man who's just washed ashore? Claiming that he's traveled back in time, the man immediately sets out on a lonely path, challenging the longstanding traditions of the island, and seeking to change the future. But those aren't his only goals...
How will his presence transform the lives of these three girls, the future of the island, and the fate of the world...?
What Steam players say

Island receives strong praise from devoted visual novel fans who appreciate its ambitious blend of romance, mystery, and science fiction with an emotionally resonant narrative and intriguing setup involving time travel and an isolated island setting. However, some players criticize the story for relying on misleading narrative tricks and semantic deception rather than clever writing, leaving them feeling betrayed after investing 70+ hours when the promised mysteries fail to deliver on their implications.
Straight up, ISLAND’s a total must-play in the vn scene, even with its super obvious flaws that can turn new players off right away. The main issue’s all in the winter arc, where the pacing drags like crazy. Way too much filler detail makes players lose track of the core plot, n tons of scenes are straight up useless since they don’t move the main story forward at all. But once u power through that bloated section, the midsummer arc ties every loose end together perfectly. u might guess some of the twists, but never the full picture, n that’s exactly why ISLAND’s writing hits so hard for me. Ambitious, far-reaching storytelling hidden under chill slice-of-life moments, that’s exactly the kind of vn content I’m always down for.38 found this helpful
Back And Forth Through Time For Love's Sake - ISLAND
"Island" is one of the best Visual Novels that I've ever played. Along with "Clannad", "Tomoyo's After - It's a Wonderful Life", and "Chaos;Child". As you can probably tell, the standard is incredibly high. This VN surpassed that standard, and got its way as my fourth favourite Visual Novel. I've been a lover of the medium for years and have read more than forty Visual Novels throughout my life, so I'd like to believe I know what I'm talking about when I say this: "Island" is something special. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3734239175 What initially presents itself as a mysterious summer visual novel about a man who washes ashore on an island somewhere in Japan, gradually transforms into something far more ambitious. A remarkable story about romance with a heavy Sci-fi background foundation. Beneath that romance lies a surprisingly complex Science Fiction story involving time travel, time loops, paradoxes, reincarnation, mythology, quantum mechanics, relativity theory, the grandfather paradox, etc. If you liked how "Science Adventure/Steins;Gate" talked and portrayed about this Science…4 found this helpful
The true ending literally invalidates the entire purpose of the entire story and causes more questions and plotholes. The more you think about it the worse it gets. I wish I was nitpicking, but since this is a VN it is not. If you take stories very seriously, especially time-travel, this is a waste of your money.1 found this helpful
When i played this vn for the first time i didn't noticed all that paranoia with time travel and liked slice of life part. But when i play it now... That's so dumb and mc such a coward. May be i'll play it in future for slice of life but it is unlikely to happen.
Every frontwing's galgame are amazing!
Would play this again after losing my memories
