Emberlight (2020)

A refreshing throwback to those classic 2D platformers - great art, sound and speed/score leaderboards make this game really engaging!

Emberlight is a 2D retro pixel platformer that seems to have been flipped by copying a GameMaker Studio/Yoyogames platformer template and applying a bunch of asset sprites/tileset elements. It's a very basic 2D retro pixel platformer. Poor quality retro pixel "art" aside, I was unable to play the game for some reason as it seems to just start the scroll to the right and then stop scrolling, showing a part of the first level but nothing else. This might be due to inadequate testing on game controllers, but it's unclear, regardless, the game may not work for you if you download it. While the developer made this game free, which is noble, it's a template flip and the bugginess, unplayability and other low quality that is synonymous with GameMaker Studio make this impossible to recommend, even for free.

great little platformer which provides a bit of nostalgia for fans of traditional platformers. really cool animation and design too!

Emberlight хорошо оптимизирована и не требовательна к железу. Конечно, игре есть куда расти. Иногда баланс кажется шатким, и не хватает контента, но тем не менее, это увлекательный проект, который затягивает на долгие часы, и заслуживает внимания любителей жанра.
