EPHEMERAL -MINIATURE GARDEN- is an Otome based in the same world as EPHEMERAL -FANTASY ON DARK-, although it is not a sequel or related in any way. In Miniature Garden, you play as a mermaid who has been accused of killing her parents and as your punishment, you’re… well, you’re forced to be a maid to a merman in a special institute for them to live and survive. Mermen in EPHEMERAL are considered incredibly rare, since they often die shortly after birth, which is why this special place exists for them to live. The air is purified for them to survive within, and there is an odd doctor who is in charge of running the place. The above description may sound weird, if not confusing, and that is because the narrative here is not exactly a well-written story. Within minutes of starting you go from being with your parents, happy and loving, to suddenly they have been murdered. There is absolutely no explanation as you are suddenly taken by some police with the intent of going to jail. But instead you end up at this place for mermen. I’m not at all sure why, since you’re essentially accused of being a murderer and your “punishment” is to become a maid to a merman of your choice. I should …18 found this helpful
