About Erstwhile Tower
Erstwhile Tower is a quick-paced, tactically inspired game where everything acts based on the tempo of a clock.
Time is off tempo and you control the 3 Archons tasked with restoring time to its natural rhythm by refueling the Erstwhile Tower. Use their respective powers to protect the Chronoxin fuel from hazards, traps and enemies found in the grid-based isometric levels.
Climb the 13 levels by solving hardcore puzzles while thinking fast. Make sure the payload reaches the end of its track, and be ready to protect it with your life. Literally.
Use the mage’s Teleportation and Stasis, the scout’s enhanced speed and defusing skill, as well as the soldier’s sword and shield to make sure nothing gets in your way.
Encounter a variety of deadly automates and complex traps that will put your brain to the test.
But more importantly : don’t lose track of Time, or else, the tower will move without you!

"Erstwhile Tower" is an unusual strategy/puzzle game where you solve problems on a puzzle grid. There's some superfluous backdrop about magical "archons" and the aforementioned tower, but this doesn't really fix the somewhat limited premise. Ultimately this is one of thousands of grid puzzle games rehashing on an old theme, presented on Steam in the era of immersive 3D gaming after another failure from Itch to contain amateur stuff. What do you do in the game? While it presents itself as a kind of turn based tactical combat game (at least visually), this works more like old games like Khet where you position pieces with various abilities, like being able to block lazer beams. But you need to get everything done within the right number of turns, etc. Here's another case where Itch failed. They have like, ONE job... to act as containment to prevent poorly made amateur shovelware from leaking out onto platforms where gamers might see them and lose hope in the gaming industry. But here we are. The participation trophies and hi-5's from the group hug weren't enough and some of the amateur drivel they're supposed to protect us from got out.
