Escape The Office VR

Not a super long game, but loads of fun. We played on Christmas Day with a projector showing the VR view, and everyone calling out suggestions while one person looked like a complete clown trying to manipulate objects LOL We ran into a problem where switching on a flashlight requires some button combinations (trigger while holding it on original Vive controllers), but every other button just has to be prodded with the 3D finger. This basically locked us out of progressing on the day but I managed to complete the game once i figured that out. It would be awesome if there was some randomization to make it replayable... The math problem, put items in different drawers, etc... But I can't complain about the price

i think the game is boring because i could not figure out what to do at the start.

"Escape The Office VR" is a short VR tech demo, a set of puzzles in an "escape room" format that I think might have been a student project or something. Just like it says on the box, this is about escaping an office in VR, by waving your arms around to solve math puzzles and other various mini-activities. I've seen worse, but that doesn't mean this is great. The game is quite short, and can be run through in just an hour or so. The lack of content here makes it hard to suggest it's worth spending the time to add to your library and download. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation…

I am a big fan of escape room games, especially in VR. And there are a lot of games out there, wich are more creative, more polished and simply more enjoyable. So why do I still recommend it? There is nothing wrong about this game: technically it works fine, and the story & the room setup is enjoyable, and when looking only at games offered for free, it's one of the better ones. So while it would not be my first pick, I would still recommend it, especially it you can relate to the scenario.
