Story Mode:

Description one:

Aserel, a young outcast of the Ouma clan seeks redemption by trying to kill the God of Rage after a freak accident he may have caused that killed those close to him.
Shunned and thrown out by his own people, Aserel must travel on his own to the Tower of Rage to defeat Goldea; The God of Rage. He must try and accomplish his goal all the while being hated as well as being hunted by the Knights of The Round and other various threats.

Description two:

In Estellium long ago, a nameless legend stood against the darkness in the sacred arena and became the champion the world needed. Through their struggles,
they paved the way for future generations to enjoy peace and prosperity. Monsters were eradicated from the world forever and tranquility was instilled across the land. This lasted for about 100 years until Goldea, the God of Rage came forth.

In a moment of his mighty anger, he swiftly summoned ferocious beasts upon the land. They began killing anything in their path. The land was as it had been almost a 100 years ago. The God of Rage had issued this Edict; "If any among you in this world is strong enough. Come destroy me, if you have the power, you can reclaim your world."

With those words leaving his angry lips. Adventurers from all over set forth towards the God of Rage who sits atop the Tower of Burning Rage. Many have tried taking the God of Rage on, but all have perished. Who, if anyone can stop him? A young man named Aserel hopes to become the answer to that burning question. Only time will tell.

Estellium Legends has an odd development history, as games go - it started out as a spiritual sequel to the arena-only game Solenars Edge Heroes, and then over the course of patches it grew a story mode and thus became a spiritual sequel to Solenars Edge Rebirth instead. This served it well, since I found playing the story mode much more entertaining than the arena-only mode would have been, but at the same time it made the major issue I mentioned with Solenars Edge Rebirth's story ("a progression of dozens of characters you can hardly care about going through a more-or-less strictly linear adventure across poorly-drawn maps") even starker, because the character selection was a random "All-Stars" choice from Team Syukino's other games, since they were originally just chosen for the story-free arena mode. So, easy thumbs-down, right? Well... not entirely. This one ended up with a much less insane and tedious combat system, even if it was still kind of unbalanced, so I can actually say I played this one on purpose and enjoyed it enough. The class balance is still awkward, but not quite as much as it was in Solenars Edge, and the whole "sixteen-hit basic attack" / "grinding down perm…

It's a good game. It's a pity there won't be more updates as this game has an expandable foundation. I hope there will be a sequel using similar ideas. The story mode isn't unique but, it's well done and it exists within the world. Often, lower cost rpg maker games plop an out of place premise into a generalized fantasy world. Not this one. It's gritty - if a bit edgelordy. The arena battle game mode is awesome! I love all the options and it can actually be challenging in a rewarding way instead of just blatantly easy-mode or ridiculously difficult. If you've been getting rpg maker games because you have a low end rig or because of nostalgia or just hoping to find a diamond in the rough, niche game experience - this is has your name all over it. You'll be glad you picked it up.

Typical low effort JRPG, Dont bother. Im on a quest of at least trying every game in my library, of which I got plenty from all kinds of cheap mass-bundles, others I bought directly, yet others from sites like nivqgames. So please dont judge me for owning this title in the first place :D If you are interested in my journey, check out my other reviews :)
