A really fun multidirectional-shooter-roguelike mashup, and an amazing product for a dollar. The theme feels nice and cohesive, blending Lovecraftian and religious elements for both enemies and the player itself, which works surprisingly well. The game looks alright — nothing groundbreaking, but it's not a hassle to look at. There are a few flaws, such as some bosses being ridiculously hard to defeat, requiring either luck or a fully upgraded character to stand a chance. Also, the library of upgrade items, while decent at around 35-40, could benefit from a bit more variety. Overall, still a solid game for the price.
A good start, but the game needs a lot of polish. There don't appear to be any settings for sound, music, resolution, or anything. Despite there being a "Controls" menu, you can't actually rebind any controls. The "Controls" menu is also the only place that tells you what the controls are, so if you start a game without checking that menu first you probably won't know how to dash. Most of the skills and powerups don't explain what they do. Wisdom, for example. What is that? Exp gain, maybe? No idea. Something like Tesla Coil as a choice - should you get it? You won't know by reading the description. Weapons give you flavor text but literally no descriptions of what to expect from them. You might figure them out after using them a few times, but you also might still be confused. The good news is that it's not a bad game. It's just very basic and feels like it could use a lot more work to bring it up to minimal standards.
