About Exo TD

Exo TD is a game similar to traditional tower defenses with new core experience changes. The setting takes place in fully 3D space as you take control of your planet defenses. With your resources you must construct turrets, shields, orbital defenses, and more maintaining your Planetary Shields as each invasion force and it's flagship boss arrives.

In the standard mode invasion forces will periodically spawn in waves to challenge your grip on the planet, on successfully penetrating your Planetary Shields your planet and all its defenses will be lost to them.

Each wave features an increasingly difficult set of AI ships that will challenge you with new tactics, strategies, and reactive combat abilities. Destroyed enemy ships will often yield drone collectible scrap resources, providing opportunities to upgrade your turrets into newer more powerful models augmenting their defensive capabilities to deal with the increasingly powerful threats.

Exo TD isn't terrible. It's a basic tower defense game that looks and sounds a bit sloppy and overly simplistic, but you'd expect that from EA. The 3d aspect of the game is a nice touch. Defending a globe against ships that are flying around does look a lot better than your usual 2d TD game. The problem is that this isn't worth anything like what they're asking for. Not even close. This is a $3 game. Anything more than $5 and you're seriously overpaying.

Do not buy EXO TD. Or, buy it for $5. For a $20 pricetag, you(i) would expect a fully fleshed out tower defense game, instead you get a painfully early access title. The conecpt is mediorcre, with it not setting itself apart from the already oversaturated TD genre, only making itself 3D. This game seems more like a flash port or demo of a much greater game. The thing that makes me scratch my head is, this review is after the "extended aresenal patch", which brings the total amount of "weapons" to 10. to think before this update there was only 6 weapons, and it still had a $20 pricetag makes me sick. The UI is shoddy at best, and it will take about 20 minutes to figure out how to navigate the game without making the game break. I have 0.6 hours at the time of writing this, and I have experienced EVERYTHING there is to do with this game. I crashed twice in that timeframe, and struggle to keep the game above 60FPS with an i9-9900k and 2080. Kongergate has free to play tower defense games that are leaps and bounds beyond this $20 game. I will revist this in about a year.

Where to begin: Tower Defense games have always been a great time kill, but somewhat easy since its the same 2D flatness. You learn where to place the turrets and what type of special versions to utilize to beat the game too fast. In comes Exo TD, a new genre of Tower defense games! Introducing third dimension with a rotating planet. This really means that your strategies will be almost unique in every game you play. The result, unlimited re-play value! This game really gets difficult, I was only able to beat the game once so far. I think TD fans and strategy fans alike will enjoy this game. Turrets galore, shields, power generators, and two planets so far. I definitely recommend this game for sure.

This game is dope. Not usually a tower defense gamer, but the outer space concept and 3-D aspect make the play more difficult and help to make the game more visually appealing. Once you start playing, it gets really addicting. Just don't forget to upgrade your turrets as you go and make sure that you capitalize on the variety of close range and long range weapons systems, otherwise you won't make it once the surprises show up. Overall 10/10.

This Game is a fantastic gotta give it one more shot time waster. Now for some reason my steam time isn't right because steam likes to sign me out and not count my time. But the 3D aspect along with its Management of resources makes it challenging and fun to lose and try something new. Price tag is a bit steep to some of you for what it is a Tower Defense and I've asked about it. Seems like steam doesn't let you change it so easily. But with that said you should give it ago. Doesn't take a lot of resources to run and you can even play it while you wait for another game. But again its not so easy where you can take you eye off it and just leave it running. The game ramps up pretty quickly and forces you to make quick placements. So enjoy your one more go of it.
