Developed and published by RudeFrog Studios, EXOME is an Early Access cooperative science-fiction survival shooter that merges exploration, resource gathering, and intense combat into a single experience. Set within a mysterious forest overtaken by an alien corruption, the game places players in the role of an operative investigating the disappearance of a research expedition. What begins as a search-and-rescue mission gradually unfolds into a desperate fight for survival against increasingly dangerous extraterrestrial lifeforms. Rather than relying on lengthy cinematic storytelling, the game encourages players to uncover the mystery through exploration, environmental clues, and continuous progression, giving the world an intriguing sense of discovery that complements its unsettling atmosphere. The game's strongest feature is its ability to balance open-world exploration with constant survival pressure. Every journey into the forest offers opportunities to discover new locations, collect valuable resources, and uncover weapon schematics that strengthen future expeditions. The environment feels appropriately hostile, with dense vegetation, eerie lighting, and signs of alien influen…3 found this helpful
This game is not worth buying, It has been out for a year i think and no improvments, i saw a youtuber playing this game and thoght it was cool and make a big mistake and bought it, when it comes to the game it self the. The graphics are a 6. The story is a 3, just because the is a story, no cutscenes no dialog, just pdas that tell a little bit of story The mechanics are a averege 4, i think those polygon games have better mechanics The youtuber i saw playing this game was Fooster and every game he playes thats like this one is a dead end. The dev or devs made a game??, and payed a ytber to promote it a little bit and get as much money as the can out of it, from what ive seen the updates have stoped. Just the game doesnt know what it is, is it a singleplayer? or mutliplayer? who knows, and yes u can play solo and coop but i never seen other people hosting there own servers. I really hope this helped someone to not buy the game and save there money, cuz even in the future i dont see that this game could be something its 100% dead, save ur money1 found this helpful
The game certainly is fundamentaly interesting, however this feels more like a demo than an early access game. The main plot was interesting at first, but it's not really fleshed out. You collect tablets but that's pretty much all there is to it and you can finish this in ca. 1-1,5h. As for the occasional enemies theres nothing really interesting. Basically all they do is hit and run without there being any noticable weakspots. Also probably worth mentioning, that there is wildlife that you can rarely encounter. However I've found most of it to appear around the spawnpoint, with a tendency to softlock you (camping your respawn and killing you over and over). As for my main issue with this game.. the performance.. on lowest settings i get 40 FPS during exploration, 35 FPS if its raining, but for combat it drops down to 20~25 FPS. My GPU rapidly heats up when starting the game to ca. 80°C. PC specs attached. Love the setting and atmosphere, but there are too many bugs and glitches for me to recommend this.1 found this helpful
This game is the GREATEST indie game I have ever played. WHAT A GEM. It has so much thought and planning put into it. It is so isolated and tells you so much without saying anything it continues to blow my mind. The game is set up in different parts that all flow into each other while you explore and try to figure out what is going on. You have hunting skills that you need, you have to fulfill your mission, find objects, fight off creatures, explore, gather gear and upgrade it, and stay alive while doing it all. The game reveals itself slowly so you figure out what you need to do, in what order, so as you go through the game you can get to the next step. It is intelligent and fun. It is pretty and scary. It is solitary but you feel connected to the story the more you play. It looks great and runs smooth for an indie game too. VERY HAPPY WITH THIS ONE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.1 found this helpful
Honestly a lot better than I had anticipated, I truly cannot wait to see this game grow into its final vision, it's a lot of fun even though there isn't a whole lot to do right now, it is still worth the playthrough and there is still enough to do and find to make it worth the time especially with a friend.
This is a top-tier demo, but it's miscategorized as a survival game and not really a fleshed-out, independent game. It's like a slenderman "explore-the-forest" spooky game, we explored everything, unlocked all the gear, met the unbalanced endgame, and got bored of it in <2hrs This is a one-nighter game, $0.99-$5 is a reasonable price point, $15 is too steep
