Remember the days of generic but reasonably competent 16-bit platformers? Now thanks to Explodemon, you can relive them all over again! Hooray...?

A quirky homage to 2.5D action-platformers like Mega Man, where your primary move is literally blowing yourself up to attack and maneuver. The core explosive platforming mechanic is neat, but sluggish controls and uninspired level design drag the experience down. It’s got charm and a goofy sense of humor, but the floaty combat keeps it from truly exploding.

The game has an interesting idea, but the gameplay itself is not fun. Can't really point out any specific flaw, I just don't enjoy it. Sorry :(

Works well enough for what it sets out to do. Is fairly well-optimized so a more recent computer won't choke on its existence, though the freeze-frame for landing a clean hit on an enemy can get a little annoying after a while. A little glitchy here or there, but I've certainly played worse and I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt to something like this. The plot works given that it's intended as a parody; the title character talking like he was educated on English by someone who learnt the language from a webtoon character has its moments, and it's... [i]generally[/i] easy enough to follow along with what's being said. The gameplay sticks to its gimmick well, iterating on what's been given more than anything. Your guy explodes and anything he wants to do will involve exploding, from attacking to dashing to boosting jumps and even to defence, though it's not as common given the "explosive shield" appears last in the list of powerups. The main antagonist doesn't change much with his myriad fights, with the challenge revolving more around turning off his explosion-suppression field in ever-convoluted arenas and then exploding him to bits. This game is broken. It hurt to play and hurt even more so to even attempt 100 percent completion. The story is barebones and any attempt to understand it is cut short and swiftly by the weird grammar. Not that it matters, since you can't replay cutscenes or have multiple save files. The physics break constantly, with objects either bouncing around like crazy, jittering in one spot, or glitching through boundaries. Every item, including collectibles also respond to physics, meaning they can get destroyed and force you to reset. Levels can take less than five minutes to beat, but can go over twenty if you want to 100 percent each. The sound mixing can cause earbleeding in deaf people. Enemies can still hurt you even once they've been destroyed. The game crashed multiple times, and all of that is just scratching the surface to this game's many problems. I never smiled while playing this game once. Please, save the money you'd spend on this, and use it on your groceries.
