Explore a vast and treacherous temple in the daring room-scale VR adventure Eye of the Temple. Keep your balance and your wits about you as you step between moving blocks, dodging hazardous traps and solving environmental puzzles with only your torch and whip in hand. Eye of the Temple makes unique use of room-scale VR to deliver an experience of navigating an expansive space. Lose yourself in the depths of the temple without teleportation, artificial locomotion, or other distractions.
Wield your trusty whip to grab levers and defend yourself from threats. Before long, you’ll have mastered it as a reliable tool and effective weapon, smacking enemies left and right.
Step onto blocks, flick levers, stay on top of rolling cylinders, and dodge obstacles. Eye of the Temple is an exciting experience you’ll play not with controller buttons, but your body. It’s a physical game designed to be easily approachable regardless of whether you normally play video games.

- You may get a sensation of almost losing your balance when blocks you stand on start or stop moving. This will usually quickly decrease over time. The game also has a variety of VR comfort options.

This is by far the best and most underrated VR game I have played to date. As much as I do love playing modded Skyrim VR, what gives Eye of the Temple a slight edge, is its clever use of roomscale. You only use the controllers to hold a torch in one hand and a whip in the other. I played pcvr with meta quest 3 headset and ran it through Virtual Desktop on my RTX 5070. I couldn't figure out how to engage the roomscale option in SteamVR, so I changed my playspace from small to medium in the headset. The graphics are crisp & clear, no blur at all. The game play is very smooth. I really felt like Indiana Jones. I wish there were more games on par with this one, but if there is, I have yet to find them. I bought it 50% during a Steam Sale. (I played this mostly on Quest, hence the playtime) A really novel room-scale experience with a surprisingly sprawling mixture of obstacle courses and puzzles. It really feels like a magic trick how the game keeps you in bounds while traveling so far. Anyone with a VR headset (preferably a wireless one) should try this at least once!
I’m going to recommend this one but I’m going to mention a huge caveat that IS said on the store page, but I think it needs to be in large text in all caps lol. You NEED space to play this game. I’m talking about a 6x6 square of free walkable space AT LEAST. Even if you have this exact amount of space, you will need to be careful of hitting your walls or anything that would be on the border of this space. I had about this much space and I hit walls a few times, my monitor was in danger. You HAVE TO move around and rotate your body. You CAN’T use the thumbstick to turn or move in anyway and there is NO setting in the game to make this a thing. If you’re using a wired headset like me, you will get a little tangled in it sometimes. Okay now that that’s out of the way here’s what I liked: Eye of the Temple is like one huge gigantic complicated puzzle. Its design is very impressive especially considering the dev team is very small (handful of people). The graphics are pretty and the sound is okay. The game play was satisfying but I did feel some of the puzzles were on the annoying side. What I didn’t like: First and foremost, not being able to move or turn using the analogue stick. I…
Challenging puzzle game that uses a 3x3 grid of playspace to avoid typical VR locomotion (like teleports or analog stick). Basics are easy to learn but the levels get progressively harder to keep you on your toes. Dodging flames, whipping enemies, and making quick movements to avoid obstacles. Definitely worth a buy
This was such a smooth and optimised experience that I loved it. It reminded me of Prince of Persia and Indiana Jones vibes. The whole setup was great. I could see a team up with the pop or Indiana Jones devs using the same format but replacing the whip/fire with a sword/gun for some melee combat sequences .
One of the best VR games available. One of the few games to really take advantage of the uniqueness that roomscale VR movement can offer. Stepping between moving platforms, rolling logs, squatting to avoid lowering ceilings all feel so real. Also the best whip in video games! So satisfying to spin around and crack at the beetles. The speedrun mode was a great addition and serves as a solid cardio workout.
