Faircroft's Antiques: The Heir of Glen Kinnoch

[i]Faircroft's Antiques: The Heir of Glen Kinnoch[/i] is the second of five installments in the [i]Faircroft's Antiques[/i] hidden object games series and is quite a noticeable step up from the first game in terms of graphics’ sharpness and story cohesion. [h1]Intro[/h1] The games follow the adventures of Mia Faircroft - a young art restorer who travels all around the world and helps people refurbish their antiques, but also mends their hearts with her positive and kind personality. In [i]Faircroft's Antiques: The Heir of Glen Kinnoch[/i] she arrives in the Scottish town of Glen Kinnoch where William MacDougal, the owner of Glen Kinnoch’s castle - the main tourist attraction of the town - passed away without leaving a will. She is tasked to sort out his inheritance and trace the lineage of the MacDougals throughout Glen Kinnoch’s different individuals by restoring various family heirlooms that have been scattered all around the town and therefore identify which of these families’ claims to the inheritance are correct. While in normal HOGs the bonus chapter doesn’t leave much impact on me since it’s just an appendix to the main plot, I really loved the way [i]Faircroft's Antiqu…

A nice step up from the previous game in the Faircroft series, Treasures of Treffenberg. If you are familiar with the previous one, you surely noticed the recycling of hidden object scenes. There's still a lot of repetition in the hidden object scenes here, but not quite as much. Multiple different locations and (what seemed like) more items provided variety overall. While hidden object scenes remain barely connected to the story, the story itself is engaging. Puzzles fall on the "too easy" side of difficulty, but If you like these types of games, it's a very relaxing (and not frustrating) way to pass the time.

Beautifully done and great story-lines. Graphics and music is lovely and pretty difficult. Hope they make more games like this with different series/story lines. Super hard to find a hidden object game this immersive/ high quality/ clean. Would to totally buy and play if they did create more series with different story lines in this format!

Fun classic HOG where you restore art and discover hidden secrets. This is the second installment of a five-part series. Each part is a standalone story with no link between them. The only thing they have in common is the titular hero Mia, an art restorer who is prepared to help everyone she meets. Even better if it is related to her passion for art restoration. The game is divided into about twenty chapters. All of it takes place on the same map, which includes several sites throughout the city. The only difference between chapters is that you'll have to search through more locations to finish a chapter. Locations might appear again throughout the chapters, so you may return to the same spot multiple times. Each location is a usually a standard hidden object game. There are always 12 objects to find, including a particular item that is important to the story. Scenes are very detailed and crammed with odd things that may or may not belong there. I like that proportions of various things are not exaggerated. There are also some surprises. You may be required to search for only one type of object, find and then utilize an item to reveal a hidden area of the scene, search for unkn…

This P&C game is a string of hidden object puzzle scenes tied together loosely with a story accompanied by incessant background music and the puzzle scenes are for the most part repetitive and become monotonous quickly. That said the graphics are nice, but there are few mini-games consisting of mostly rearranging pieces of pictures. But these too become repetitive. No replay value and definitely not worth full price. But if its your thing, who am I to argue.

This is a straightforward hidden object game, but it has a story, which is great. If you've played the previous games, you'll be getting more of the same, which is a good thing.
