About Fanite
Survive in this remade game with new stuff! Featuring many of the same elements as magicite, Fanite randomly generates each biome for you to delve into. Collect resources, and hunt beasts in order to help you survive the difficult and challenging environment. With a lot of character traits, hats, companions, players will have a fun and rewarding experience each play through! Be prepared to die a few times.
Fanite's main influence was Magicite.
Features:
Randomly Generated Biomes - Experience a new biome each time you play. A couple trees to chop, ores to mine, plants to harvest, and bugs to catch!
Permanent Death - When you die you stay dead.
Crafting System - Combine any two items(That can be crafted) to create a new one! For example nothing + something = nothing.
Combat System - If you plan on just running in and swinging your fists, you're gonna get wrecked if you dont ware armor. Take time to craft useful items and learn enemy move sets before attacking.
Unlockable Races, Hats, & Companions - The more you play, the more you will unlock new stuff.
Before I played Fanite, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
3 found this helpful
It's clear a lot of effort has been put into this, but there's a general lack of polish. The first things that bother me are the lack of inventory tooltips and weird controls for moving items in your inventory. Most of the actual content is copied from Magicite, with some changes and a weaker art style. I'd like to see this game move in a more unique direction, and with a lot of work it could be a great alternative/successor to Magicite. For now I can't really recommend it, though hopefully this changes in the future.1 found this helpful
"Fanite" is an unabashed, lazy ripoff of MAgicite (Copyright Smashgames, 2014). Many lazy "amateur" developers don't pay attention to their obligations under copyright law, and often steal the ideas of actual, real game developers without credit, such as the "developer" here has done. Putting aside the unethical intellectual, creative and moral bankruptcy of stealing someone else's game concept, this is also breaking that unwritten law of stealing other people's game ideas... you should at least try to do better than the game you're ripping off. "Fanite" is considerably worse than MAgicite. Before we get too far into it, let's go over what this disaster is... it's basically a really weak Terraria ripoff (being a ripoff of Magicite which is a Terraria ripoff). A ripoff of a ripoff. It's a platformer/crafter with no content (procgen), crap graphics, and weak and convoluted crafting stuff tacked on. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this…
did not understand horible crafting system sh!t combat and the tutorial needs a tutorial on how to be a tutorial
As a cute little pet project, this is passable, but it is nowhere near polished enough to be anywhere beyond alpha testing. The tutorial is complete garbage; it explains vague concepts, but doesn't give you the basics you need to actually play the game, such as controls or what various symbols mean.
