Muy creativo y entretenido. Corto pero bueno
This game was cute and kept me curious. I never played a game with a picture only (and tags) story. That was pretty cool! I almost gave up in mining section but glad Chat got me through that. It was worth playing! One thing I'd request if dev makes future games is to offer 1080p windowed mode. The reason is that the game sound stops every time you click out for OBS, Chat, etc., making stream less smooth. Although not much replayability, it was a great one-off game and I got to experience a new game style. Great job on this and I hope to see more! I picked this up on Keymailer; thanks for offering the key because I otherwise might not have ran into Fate of Kia>
No recommendation for this one, I'm afraid. I know it's very short and it got awards and all, but... - chapter III required a reset because I'd set the only image I could and try to keep working backwards from it and it would reset all my puzzles, endlessly - and I couldn't finish it until I've reset it so the solution would stick - all's well, I would be able to put up with that minor annoyance, but here comes chapter IV - where try as I may, I cannot unlock all dream endings because I am unable to get a word I need unstuck. maybe I'm doing something wrong (just like chapter III), but my annoyance increases because I cannot tell, for the life of me, if it's me or a bug. like previous options, it seems like it's the only viable combination I can have, maybe it's another bug. suffice it to say, on another play of this level, that also warranted a reset, I couldn't get yet another word unstuck because somehow, it disappeared from my inventory and it was crucial to moving on - here comes chapter V. where hey, I might be the dumb one, but for the life of me I don't get why you'd give me 3 puzzles and just 2 keys, with what as far as I can tell is no hint towards which key of the 2 I'…
12 year old loves graphic novels and LOVED this game. I did a run through after him. It is short but the puzzles and story are fun. Unique!
Nice meta-narrative; the epilogue opens up another dimension. Fate of Kai has good progression and art style. The use of verbs to navigate a comic book world probably helped inspire the branching narrative of Beacon Pines. Interacting with and zooming into comic panels is neatly done in a way that reminds me of Gorogoa. I think I enjoyed my time better with those other games I mentioned, but this is generally worth picking up.
What is this game?
Fate of Kai is a comic book style point and click puzzle game where you use actions in different places to change the story. This all to get Kai to the unnamed castle that shall unlock his chains, freeing him from the chest he carries.
Price/replay value
Horrible - Bad - Decent - Good - Amazing
Achievement hunting
Most achievements are story related and thus unmissable. The others can be picked up by replaying a chapter from the selection menu. The only annoying achievement is the
comic book door one
.
Keymailer coverage video
https://youtu.be/aw2Jnf6J1a0
Pros/cons
Pros

Very nice art
Interesting mechanics
Cons

Incredibly short
Chapter 6 timer
Very little freedom

Overall opinion
I'd love to have a neutral option for cases like these... Overall I would say this game was mostly enjoyable. The puzzles were alright for the most part
the forest and clock sections could've used a better explanation...
. And the art style is great and breathes life into the game. The story honestly fel…
