Gaze Into Fate

"Gaze Into Fate" is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam for no apparent reason. It's a garbage minimalist puzzle game with a bit of visual novel drivel stapled onto it. I guess they thought it would go viral amongst the art community or something. Spoiler: It did not. What do you do in the game? All you do here is swipe your finger around on your iPhone to connect the dots in the order they tell you to do. That's it. Boring. No wonder it failed. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily me…

This is an interesting story concept, and I really like games like this that center religious or spiritual matters, and explore other cultures in a respectful manner. But from a game design perspective it's just not really engaging. I think having more dialogue between the "Simon Says" style rounds might help. And perhaps alternating with at least one other game mechanic would probably also help. Just clicking on things in order with extremely short dialogue in between just gets really old really quickly. As far as art style, it looks great. Also, I think this is amazing for a first game. Just try to do a little more research on game design for your next project, and get some early feedback from play testers or other developers. While I sadly can't recommend this game due to the gameplay/mechanics, I think you have a lot of potential.

A beautiful free game that works on memory and memorization. I recommend this game.

The storyline and animation were great but 5 minutes in and all I've done is play Simon, which is not a fun game to play for most people. Kinda thought there would be other aspects to the game but I guess not

I did not really enjoy playing this. In fact, I didn't even finish it. I'm torn writing this, because the art is stunning and the storyline (as far as I got into it) was captivating, and I'm sure the creators did put thought into the narrative and love into the art. But unfortunately, the puzzles were too repetitive. It's a bunch of items and stars which you have to click in a certain order, and it keeps on repeating. Most of the sequences had a pattern, to the point where you can predict them. It's a pity, because I really want to like this; the art is stunning and I would love to get deeper into the story, but I just can't bring myself to finish this. A pity :(
