Fighties 2

Fighties 2 is a sequel with enough potential to be better than the original. The new mechanics are interesting, old characters are completely revamped with new abilities, and the art style for this game is great. However, with only 6 characters currently in the game, and a lack of game modes, there isn't enough to do to warrant more than an hour of gameplay for a casual player. I'd wait until the game officially releases until making a purchase

I don't write reviews often, but Fighties was one of my favorite games that I feel often got overlooked. Fighties 2 is already looking incredibly promising. The combat is expanded, the fights last longer and are more intense, and all the while keeping it's simplistic charm and unique character playstyles. All characters now have 2 powers and 1 defensive power, which varies their playstyles tremendously more than Fighties 1. While every character had a dash and a dodge roll before, the defensive power replaces that so now a character's movement options depend more on the type of character they are. [list] [*]The Boxer is a speed-type, that can move while attacking, flash step in any direction and has a counter that teleports them. [*]The Ninja is an all-arounder with an upgradable projectile, the ability to disappear into smoke, and a leaping attack that dodges a lot of projectiles. [*]The Shotgun Girl is all-range with limited ammunition which she recovers over time, but fires quickly, can dodge roll, and also has the spread shot of her shotgun. [*]The Deer Knight is a defensive-type but now has zoning from the help of it's deer familiar that runs around on the f…

An unexpected improvement from the first game with new mechanics and more moves per character. The boss battles at the end of arcade are challenging, especially the afro samurai guy (Last boss). Some weird decisions and nitpicky things would be: -Weird placement of the delete save being on the main menu and not out the way in the options screen -Not being able to change controls from the main menu (able to from the pause screen though) -The controls reset back to default every time the game loads -No movelist/explanation of character EX properties/effects Would like for the return of other characters like sniper, iceman, claw, lightning, needle, and the guy with the smoke bomb (cant remember his name). Keep up the good work guys.

This is so beautiful! Just beat the first arcade and I already love this. I played A TON of Fighties 1, so I was familiar with what to expect. But the visuals are absolutely incredibly, I saw the screenshots and video, but when you get into your first fight, it's just wonderful. I'm unsure how to unlock characters so far, last time there was an in-game currency to do so, and as I said I beat the first Arcade and that didn't unlock anyone, so I'm not too sure about that part. Biggest criticism, DO NOT put the "Delete Save" at the bottom of the Main Menu!!! Put it in Settings! And if you are going to put it in the Main Menu, put it ABOVE "Exit" not below it. The bottom item should basically always be Exit, not "DELETE Literally all your progress". I didn't expect this game to ever release, I really hope this is PPG coming back to it and not a "well I guess I should just finally release it" because I'd love to see more Fighters in the future. It's well worth the money either way, but Fighties 1 had such a big roster, I'd love to see this one grow as well. Anyway, now I'm done with this review so I can play more!
