Firewood is a 2D adventure game with psychological horror elements.

The game tells the story of an old man who has lost his wife years ago and is still having troubles with his past.

After his wife's funeral, he decides to move to a cabin far away from town in order to escape from the haunting memories of the past and his country's opressive regime.

Yet one day, events take an unexpected turn and he finds himself in a dark journey.

Will he be able to find the redemption he seeks?

-Side scrolling 2D adventure game with hand drawn graphics.
-Grim and atmospheric music.
-A twisting story.

Firewood is our first project and it took us five months to complete.
We created everything from scratch. Graphics, music and all. Thanks!

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of y…

I don't think English is the native language of the developers. This game is trying to be a "thriller" but the only "thrills" are minor jump scares where a piano gets clanged and the monitor flashes showing grotesque pixel gore, monsters or ghosts. I don't understand the story at all and that's all on the developer. Skip this one, this game is little more than an amateur production.

Firewood burns like in the woods every level is a patience test and I still don’t see the campfire here.

Interesting little game about a man who's thinking about his dead wife. Silent Hill jokes aside, I found it engaging and it subverted my expectations!

Awful on so many levels. Using the on screen in game instructions I found myself in multiple unsolvable loops. It was one of the most painful games I've played in years. Nothing made sense, Has the game designer who made this considered alternative employment.

A short little game with an interesting mystery. A dystopic corporate universe, an old man, a rebellious wife, and three imps out to get you. I liked it. The play loop got a little repetitive, doing the same thing over and over, and I got stuck at least twice - literally stuck, I couldn't move the character, however rebooting the game only takes a second, and you're never far behind your last safe. I recommend for those who like indie horror.
