Players praise the smooth exploration, strong art direction, and engaging voice acting that evokes classic RPGs like Daggerfall while feeling modernized. The game offers meaningful player choice within its story-driven structure and features well-written NPC dialogue across varied settings and gameplay styles. Some players feel the combat system could benefit from additional defensive options beyond what currently exists.
God this game is so good. I played a ton of Daggerfall, and this game heavily reminds me of it, but with more smooth controls and with really good voice acting. The art direction is really defiant and well put together. I think for a solo developer, this game is beyond good. Probably my favorite indie title so far! Keep up the amazing work!7 found this helpful

Love the art style. Kind of shows the most potential in the prologue (of the first 3 chapters that I played), but I had fun with all of them. A wide variety of different settings and gameplay styles, and I can honestly say that I hadn't played anything quite like it (in a good way). Looking forward to playing the fourth chapter (which released recently).3 found this helpful
Evelyn II – Shards of Creation is a story-driven pixel-art RPG set in a world shaped by war and magic. You explore a large interconnected world, make choices that influence how events unfold, and engage in strategic combat while uncovering secrets scattered throughout the map. Pros ✔️ Movement through the world feels great - Traversing the map feels smooth and natural, which made exploration genuinely enjoyable. ✔️ Multiple ways to approach objectives - Even when the path forward is more railroaded, it still feels like you have meaningful flexibility in how you get there. ✔️ Strong NPC dialogue - Conversations strike a nice balance between sincere character moments and playful nods to classic RPGs. Cons ❌ Combat could use more defensive option - It works well, but adding a dodge or block mechanic would push it further. ❌ Some character visuals feel unfinished - Certain models, especially the bald characters, look more incomplete than intentionally designed. ❌ Big shift from the first game - It pulls in a lot of references from the original, which is cool, but if you liked one game’s gameplay more than the other, that jump could be a bit jarring. Conclusion Even in early access, …1 found this helpful
