About FORGOTTEN: THE GAME
A game about experiencing dementia
FORGOTTEN is a psychological horror game about experiencing dementia. Essentially a walking simulator with narration and disturbing imagery. Travel through progressively disturbing environments as a fox in a fantasy world while searching for items that refer to the protagonist's life. Hold each memory close to you as it might fade away, faster than you think.
This experience is not meant for everyone
This game explores themes such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, not feeling in control.
FLASHING LIGHTS WARNING
This game is meant to entertain and explore a hopeless and unfair situation someone can find themselves in. We started working on it as a side project and immediately fell in love with the concept and wanted to explore it more. So... We remade the whole game with new characters, stories, mechanics, and elements. We hope it has some impact in some way. This game is influenced by "When The Darkness Comes" (Obviously), "Doki Doki Literature Club", "Omori" and many more.

I found it by chance and the concept interested me enough to play it, but sadly the experience turned out to be extremely disappointing. To start the optimization is absolutely horrendous, my laptop(lenovo ideapad 3 11th gen) is by no means suited for gaming but it should be able to run a 2 GB game smoother than 30 FPS at the lowest setting. Not to mention the 3d model tearing that is all around the map. Moreover the game does not even allow you to explore the map in it's entirety, blocking certain areas(although insignificant and small) behind an invisible barrier. Another issue I encountered albeit unsure if it's a universal glitch or just on my end is that the fox(the character you play as) does not respond to the jump button(space bar in my case) quite often. The sudden flashbang of disturbing colours and sounds can be done more creatively to make the gameplay less jarring although I guess the point of them is to rattle the player so this counts as a subjective complain. In all it is borderline unplayable and needs a lot of technical improvements. To list the positives, well as aforementioned I feel the idea of the game is very creative and capturing, the voice actor of the pr…1 found this helpful
Not great. Found the first item, got to the snow, found three items, last being a watch and there were no more indicators so i quit, redid it, nothing happened. is that it?
This game is very interesting, in a good way. The story is especially interesting. The sound track, the art style, the game play, etc is amazing. I may not have a lot of playtime, but from what I played/encountered, this game deserves more recognition, and patience. I'm excited for future updates. (ignore how i'm writing this review in 2025...)
I have to be completely honest with you when I talk about Forgotten, it is not a good game. It's an interesting and it certainly does not live up to it's name (you will remember this one), but it is not good. It is simple with very little to do before the credits roll, and it really doesn't give you a lot of room to play with what little it offers, and the events you uncover make next to no sense. However, it is also a game someone made as a passion project. It wears that passion on it's sleeve, and is a game about a horrible disease which makes the world make no sense to those who fall to it. I still won't call it good. Hell I can't even tell you if it's accurate to what it depicts (thank God for that). But what I can call it is interesting and something I won't forget anytime soon. And for a free game that is over in about half an hour, it doesn't even ask much of your time. You can do far worse then this between the games you really want to play.
