Information Review English
Forty Thieves Solitaire Collection is a strategy card game developed by eSolutions.
Gameplay History
Do you like card games? Then you should definitely read on, because this collection has it all. In solitaire, four stacks are always formed, each with one suit, whereby the cards must be placed in the known order from ace to king. This basic regulation also applies to all other three stacks and cannot be changed or canceled by special agreements or extra rules. The game offers you popular variants with different difficulty levels of solitaire like Ali Baba, Breakwater, Busy Aces, Deuces, Forty Thieves, Miss Milligan, Parliament, Red and Black, Single Rail, Thieves of Egypt and whatever they are called. Furthermore, the game offers you a ranking list, which just waits until you have climbed the first place. I'm going to try each mode and rate them separately. Based on the average score from all the ratings, I'm going to either recommend the game or not.I wrote my reviews based on my own experiences, maybe I've missed some aspect of a game mode that made my time unenjoyable; you might want to take this in consideration. Total score atm: 22/50 (for 5 game modes played) - Ali Baba (0/10) Everything is based on the luck of the draw. Without that luck, the game can't be won. There's also no strategy to be had because you can move any sized stack around however you see fit. The draw pile doesn't redeal; once you've gone through you're stuck with only the top card of the waste pile. This harms the game, imho. If there were a redeal, then you'd have some options. The game is played with a standard deck size (52 cards); most of the cards are on the board already, only 6 or so are in the draw pile; if cards already seem very inaccessible on the board, the the draw pile won't change much. - Busy Aces (8/10) Cool concept. Played with double the deck size (104 cards); you have 12 work spaces, already filled with a card at the start, where you can stack cards per suit (lower cards on top) but o…4 found this helpful
Forty Thieves is what it sounds like - a collection of solitaire card games. Includes 20 variants on the classic, most much harder than the classic. Well-presented UI, smooth controls. Challenging! Ali Baba is like super hard mode! Just not being able to re-shuffle the deal pile adds a serious challenge. Forty Thieves variant is also a lot of fun and I really enjoyed Breakwater and Busy Aces. Not sure which is my favourite! I also like the "variant beaten" checkbox addition on the main menu, something to strive for. Way too expensive for what is a very unpolished and very limited game. For this sort of money one would expect more games and some options to change things around a little. I bought it on sale for less than half price and I still feel a little ripped off.2 found this helpful
edit: review text unchanged but flipped to a non-recommendation due to missing quality of life (e.g. no mid-game saving) and the dev deleting critical feedback to hide the shortcomings of their games. forty thieves solitaire collection is one of the not that many card game collections available on steam. some are better value for money, others are worse, but 20 variants will still keep anybody busy for a long time. this is exactly the same as klondike solitaire collection, freecell solitaire collection, spider solitaire collection and canfield solitaire collection, obviously with different games, and since only a few are listed on the store page, here's the complete list (interchange used to be a part of it but was pretty much impossible to win, so after a while it got replaced by breakwater):

ali baba
breakwater
busy aces
deuces
double rail
forty thieves
indian [*…
