[h1] Information / Review English [/h1] Spider Solitaire Collection is a strategy card game developed by eSolutions. [h1] Gameplay / History [/h1] Do you like card games? Then you should definitely read on, because this collection has it all. Spider is a solitaire game played with 104 cards (two decks of 52 cards each). The display consists of ten columns. The first four columns each contain five, the remaining six columns each contain four face-down cards. One face up card is placed on top of each column. The talon contains the remaining 50 cards, with which ten new cards can be laid out five times in the course of the game. The object of the game is to form the eight possible true-color families in descending order from King to Ace (e.g. King of Clubs to Ace of Clubs). A full sequence of cards is taken from the deck (right after the ace is dealt). Within the display, the cards can be placed on top of each other in descending order regardless of their suit, for example the eight of diamonds on the nine of spades. I've completed 4 of the game types (the 3 Spider Solitaire variants and Simple Simon) and was trying the game type Scorpion before review. There's a lot of luck involved in the hand you get dealt. In the Scorpion mode I noticed that a certain move was impossible for me to make, but it had to be made to be able to win. The cards were dealt unlucky from the get go: an 8 of Clubs lay on a Queen of Diamonds and a Jack of Diamonds lay on a 9 of Clubs; I could only place the 8 on the 9 and could only place the Jack on the Queen, there was no other valid place to place these cards on, because empty rows may only be filled with a king and you may only place same suits on eachother where the cards follow directly (e.g. a 9 of Clubs needs to be followed by an 8 of Clubs). Because of this luck needed to be involved, most of these game modes seem to me as a huge waste of time. Games are already a waste of time but games with an unobtainable goal are the worst of the bunch. Also, the double click to move a stack didn't always make the smartest move, it was annoying to use here, in comparison to the Freecell Collection. I love cards games but don't always have people to play with and although I carry a deck of cards with me everywhere (I really do!) it's not always practical trying to lay a solitaire game out on a bus or plane. This is a great bundle and works well on touch screen. Who knew there were so many Spider Solitaire variants? This is a great bundle for those who have mastered the version on Windows and are looking for more (they're much harder!). Looks nice too. WARNING: This product is horribly optimised. If you start the game and play 1 round, you will probably be fine. I play modern shooter games and my rig has no issues, but a few rounds of this game and it can hang for seconds when moving a stack. This happens over time getting worse and worse with each round, which leads me to believe it is a memory leak, or a multi-threading issue. You have been warned, YMMV
