Fragmented

The devs of "The Repopulation" gave this game out for free to testers after the Repop was mothballed (it had been shaping up to be pretty good at the time too). "Fragmented" is still in my library, and in 2026 the offline mode still works. There are no servers for online play and I'm not sure if setting up a local server is still possible. The game itself is not bad as far as it goes. That's about it. I can't recommend buying unless you're getting it for a very low price and are aware that this game is not actively supported any more.

This game is a blight on my steam library an ugly mole that may or may not be cancerous.

UI is broken, servers are shut down, and on top of that, the game just sucks.

"The Repopulation," was an old MMO that is no longer available. "Fragmented" was intended as filler when ABT, the original developer, closed down "The Repopulation" while they were looking for a buyer. This game has a beginning but no end. There's no point to it, no reason to continue playing. There are no live servers but you apparently can still host locally, so you could play with friends but one of the game's most satisfying activities was destroying and looting abandoned structures and as a solo game, you can't do that. Its lone appeal is that you can cruise around, build fortresses or construct highways for the god-awful vehicles in the game, so it's a pleasant enough time-filler. This game is essentially abandonware.
