About Frantic Freighter
Frantic Freighter is a rather simple game with a simple premise: get some cargo from planet A to planet B. However, staying alive & reaching your destination isn't easy!
Every time you use your warp drive, an important system will likely break down. Hopefully, you'll have a part to fix it! Friendly planets, stations & ships may have spare parts for you, or information on nearby points of interest. Pirates will try to chase you down for your cargo, so hopefully your cloaking & shields systems are available when needed!
Successfully deliver your package to unlock random special challenge modes!
* Frantic Freighter is best enjoyed in virtual reality with tracked controllers. However, it can fully be played without a virtual reality headset. There is no game menu & the game will immediately start (and restart as needed), with or without VR equipment. Press the Escape key to quit.

Frantic Freighter is a tense, systems-driven space survival game that trades spectacle for immediacy, placing players inside the fragile shell of a cargo ship where every action carries risk. Developed and published by Phr00t’s Software, it focuses less on exploration or combat in the traditional sense and more on the constant struggle to keep a failing vessel operational while inching toward a distant objective. The result is a tightly scoped but distinctive experience that thrives on pressure and improvisation. The core idea is deceptively simple: transport cargo across space and reach your destination. In practice, this journey becomes a juggling act of system management, navigation, and survival. Each warp jump, which is necessary for progress, comes with a high likelihood of damaging critical components of your ship. Life support, navigation systems, shields—any of these can fail at any moment, forcing you to scramble across the cockpit to repair them using limited resources. This creates a constant push-and-pull between advancing toward your goal and maintaining the fragile balance of your ship’s systems. Moving forward is essential, but doing so too aggressively can quickly…2 found this helpful
Frantic Freighter is a somewhat unambitious tech demo/student project tier effort. It's a simple adventure game where you're on the bridge of a courier ship and you have to complete the delivery. This means running around the small low poly bridge and doing little puzzle tasks in glorious VR (although it's not required to play this, 90% of the game is resting on the premise that it's a VR game). One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. The game is very simplistic, small and limited in scope and ambition. This feels more like a tech demo, proof of concept or student homework assignment rather than a fully fledged product designed for PC gamers. As such it doesn't offer any real value as a serious PC game. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical …1 found this helpful

I still haven't seen a VR title that really pulls off what Frantic Freighter did. I guess we're getting some titles that have a little more of a likelihood of letting you interact with your ship and such... But this was one of the first games to pull it of successfully.
