This game is my childhood...

The game looks and seems like it could be very interesting and fun to play but unfortunately extremly clunky, difficult and unreliable controls gatekeep the experience, which makes it unenjoyable to play. (4.4/10)

Free Running is a parkour-focused action and sports game that places movement at the center of virtually everything it does. Instead of treating climbing, vaulting, and wall running as secondary traversal mechanics, the entire experience revolves around mastering these techniques and using the environment as an obstacle course. Developed and published by Rebellion, the game carries the unmistakable qualities of an older generation of 3D games, but its unusually dedicated approach to parkour still gives it an identity of its own. The player takes the role of a Tracer attempting to develop into an accomplished free runner. Environments are designed as playgrounds filled with rails, walls, rooftops, platforms, ledges, and gaps that can be incorporated into different routes. More than 50 moves and tricks are available, including vaults, wall runs, climbs, and various acrobatic maneuvers. Learning how these actions connect is where much of the satisfaction comes from. A successful sequence can create an enjoyable feeling of momentum, especially when several obstacles are cleared without stopping or making a mistake. They did make all kind of games back in the day. Sure, this does look pretty dated nowadays and the controls were clunky even then, but [i]Free Running[/i] predates [i]Assassin's Creed[/i], [i]Mirror's Edge[/i], and everything else you could think of that puts a focus on player creativity in movement.
