About Frontier Quest

Frontier Quest is a hybrid puzzle-RPG focused around exploring an untravelled frontier while rebuilding a run-down town and getting to know its colourful cast of characters!
A young adventurer journeys out into the frontier in search of legendary artifacts, however they quickly find their path blocked by the various monsters living there. To make matters worse the frontier town is in no shape to provide support, so our adventurer ends up helping repair the town in exchange for better equipment to take on the frontier.
Listen to the requests of the townsfolk before journeying out into the frontier, figuring out monster’s weaknesses in turn-based combat and collecting materials to help restore the town and ultimately uncover the mystery of the artifacts.

Using the right equipment is key in progressing through the dangerous frontier. By choosing the right weapons, armor, gear and allies, you’ll be able to make short work of the monsters blocking your path.

Through completing quests for the townsfolk, you'll be rewarded with new equipment that you’ll need to succeed on your adventure, and as you complete quests and get to know the townsfolk, you'll be able to help them better themselves and grow the tiny village into a prosperous town. You might even learn more about the frontier’s past and its inhabitants along the way too!
  • Turn-based combat with puzzle elements that focuses on choosing the right equipment for the job
  • Vibrant 2D art set within a colourful fantasy world
  • A cast of quirky characters to meet and become acquainted with through 30+ quests
  • 50+ roads across many different environments to explore
  • Watch the town slowly improve and expand as you complete quests
  • A variety of different gear to collect and equip

Frontier Quest is a cute game that somehow feels nostalgic despite being released last week. It has a great sense of not making you do anything without purpose, as each quest plays a role in unlocking new areas to explore. Combat is simple and based off of equipment rather than any character stats, a change that felt odd at first but I found myself surprisingly comfortable with. It's a charming and easygoing game to pick up.

Great game, love the artwork. The sound for the characters and background is well thought out. The interaction with the characters is enjoyable. Animation is well done and each character has personality. Enjoying playing this game very much.

Played through about halfway and game got too stale for me to continue; combined with the lack of quality of life features this probably isn't worth the time and cost.

I have been having fun with this game, its more of a puzzle game with light rpg overtones, where you have to figure out which combination of equipment you bring in each road in order to progress.

A relaxing casual RPG, not like any I've played before. Don't expect this to play like a Final Fantasy or similar. It takes more of a puzzler approach to its adventuring. As you explore you get more equipment, and the core loop of the game comes down to selecting the right gear to equip for a particular journey, and then using the right abilities from that gear to overcome the road's encounters. Along the way you'll meet a bunch of unique characters. The writing isn't heavy but what I've seen so far is well made. The style is quirky without going over the top. No dense lore here, but enough to give context and flavour to the adventuring on hand. Definitely recommended to anyone who'd enjoy a light RPG with cheerful graphics, particularly if they want to be able to play in short bursts.
