Right. Frostrain. It’s free. And when something’s free, your first thought is: what’s the catch? Is it mining my data? Is it secretly running crypto while I’m choosing train carriages? No. I checked. It came out of a two-month game jam, and now the developer has a paid sequel out. So the first one is basically a business card. A business card you can drive. And the catch? There isn’t much game. Which, honestly, is almost worse. At least data mining would be doing something. Now, I’m not going to pretend there’s no fun here. Driving the train is fun. It’s a train. Everyone likes trains. Even people who say they don’t like trains secretly like trains. But here’s the thing. Imagine a roguelike without random generation. Go on, imagine it. That’s not a roguelike, is it? That’s just a game you play again. Same map, same nodes, same events, every single run. It’s like Groundhog Day, except Bill Murray eventually learned something. There are exactly two things to do: pick wagons and click map nodes. That’s it. That’s the game. I’ve seen more variety in a vending machine. The wagons are the deckbuilding bit, and on paper some of the ideas are genuinely interesting. On paper. Then nobo…

in general its a nice game if you want something quick. its free so its an easy grab. i didnt see many complaints about it but for me the game is relatively unstable. if i use the fast forward too much the game likes to crash. its really a joy killer if you play any but the first conductor since the game will load back with the first one regardless and kill your strat
