This is a simple, short but relaxing RPG to play. The story pretty much is about the worlds different region/nations elemental gems being tainted by a darkness that is being summoned by a evil cult (sounds very Final Fantasy ish). You play as a young hero boy who escapes his hometown with his childhood friend after their gem was tainted by the darkness. You go to a nearby nation to see if the other gems can help yours recover its power. Along the way different allies from the different nations will join your adventure in stopping the darkness from spreading and destroying all the gems. What makes this game interesting is the different nations are represented by different elemental races, so the water gems nation are mermaid people and the fire nation are imp like people with fire hair, the wind nation are elf like characters. Each party member has their own element which will determines their powers and skills. Each character can equip armor and weapons to increase their stats. In this game their are items or gems that your characters can equip to give them stat boost, new abilities or perks. These items can also be leveled up to improve its effectiveness. Like I said …

This game contains about 17 hours of gameplay. The battle system's very traditional, which is a plus for fans of JRPGs IMO. Unfortunately, the story is not very good and the characters are unlikable.

Story is decent; could do better with a little bit more polishing here and there. Battle system is classic JRPG with quartz system (it's actually a good system!). At this price, I'd absolutely recommend Gale of Windoria for JRPG fans out there :)

Gale of Windoria is a classic fantasy JRPG developed by Hit-Point Co., Ltd. and published by KEMCO, offering a nostalgic adventure that draws inspiration from traditional role-playing games while introducing a handful of creative mechanics to keep the experience engaging. Set in a world where the powerful Tetra Quartzes sustain life and prosperity, the story begins when these sacred crystals become corrupted, plunging the elemental nations into crisis. Players take control of Shan, a young hero determined to restore balance and save those he cares about, embarking on a journey that spans multiple kingdoms shaped by wind, fire, water, and earth. The narrative follows a familiar structure that longtime JRPG fans will immediately recognize, but it remains enjoyable thanks to its likable cast and strong sense of adventure. As Shan gathers companions from different regions, the story gradually expands from a personal mission into a larger conflict involving the future of the entire world. Character interactions are warm and sincere, helping the party feel connected despite the relatively straightforward plot. While the game does not attempt major narrative surprises, it succeeds in cre…

Consider this game's price to include the dlc. It's a slog without changing the encounter rate. otherwise really good game. one of the better hit point/kemco RPGs
