Gargoyles Remastered

🌬️ Wait, the Gargoyles game was never that good? That's right. This remaster is a literal reskin of the original, and I'm surprised people are complaining about the awkward hitboxes and other issues, because they've always been there (even old boss abuses work). It's unfairly difficult in places, slightly confusing, and has some frustrating platforming sections. This release is cheap, and while the graphics are generally okay, there's nothing else here. No extra content, nice bonuses, or anything. You can switch to the original graphics at any time, but it would have been better if they'd fixed this game with the remaster, leaving the original game as a standalone. I love «Gargoyles» and am glad they remembered it at least like this, but I wouldn't recommend this game; it's mediocre. If you still want to play it, then do it on easy, spam the crouch attack on almost all enemies and don’t hesitate to use rewind, for the sake of your nerve cells.

Never knew there was game, and I wish I never did. The controls are outright broken and borderline non functional. Re binding them does not correctly input the right key. Example, I was rebinding them to your traditional "WASD" settings and it refuses to bind D with left. The order of bindings is completely random after Up binding. So after being forced to use original controls, they still don't work. I had to check the options to make sure again and again I was hitting the jump key, which I was. Sometimes it makes you jump, sometimes it makes you roll or slash. The controls simply don't work and there is not even correct options to rebind them to get them to work! The gameplay is the beat 'em up arcade style of the time, but the controls made me abandon this after only 30 minutes. Original graphics are better than the remastered, much darker in tone. The remastered is nice far more fitting of the show. Music is supposedly remastered but it sounds far better in original mode. I'm sure it's an okay game, but the controls are awful and the fact you can not rebind them and they turn random as you play makes this unplayable. Don't buy at all.

The hit boxes are more accurated for this platform steam than gog.

You know I can't say I wasn't warned. I heard about the reviews when the game came out originally. I heard that the remaster didn't fix any of them and maybe added some new issues. But I didn't listen because I loved Gargoyles back in the day and never had a chance to play the OG game. Just woof. Its some classic old school game nonsense. Clunky controls, nonsensical level design.... Your home is under siege! go fight the invading vikings! By... assaulting your own castle, that the vikings are all holed up in defensive positions in.. and apparently has ballista firing flaming bolts at the castles own towers????? Nevermind that off to the egg caverns where you keep your young! Its full of fireballs and weird mechanisms that make no sense and give little feed back! Swing from closing and opening claws and also clutches of your own eggs kept suspended in mid air over lava and fireballs! ugh. I got as fast as the modern day and then bailed because there were some jumps I just could not make and the game had already worn down all my patience and most of my lives.

A great remake from the SEGA platform, a classic in its current form. The game is beautifully crafted and retains its original atmosphere, darkness, and hardcore gameplay. It is definitely worth adding to collection.

I didn't watch the show growing up. I am not someone who knows anything about the lore. Never played the original game. I picked it up on sale and I will say if you enjoy sega genesis disney games its good. Get it. I played the original and the remake now and I enjoyed both. For 5 to 10 bucks its a fun afternoon playthrough. Worth it. Hope they remake aladdin for snes and genesis like this.
